Programa detallado

Our cafe crew is small and chill—just myself, my partner Jared, and 1 or 2 volunteers at a time.

You’ll also be spending time with the campground crew, as you’ll be hanging out, bunking, eating, and sharing communal spaces with them. The campground crew usually ranges from 5–10 people and can grow to 15 during peak periods.

We all live in a secluded, private area of the campground where we have built our own little community space. It's a beautiful spot with dorms, caravans and camp areas, our own bathrooms, washing machine and social areas. Enjoy being surrounded by the ocean and top notch surf breaks with the closest beach access just across the road!
Please note, we live a really basic lifestyle and are surrounded by the bush (yes, there will be lots of cool wildlife - including bugs).
You will spend almost all your time OUTDOORS and there is very limited phone signal :)

We cook and eat in the camp kitchen. Your breakfast is self-serve, lunch and dinner are cooked and enjoyed together. We do not provide snacks in between meals.

(Please note: meals are provided by the campground, not the cafe, so we don't oversee the food! All crew members take turns cooking and contributing to shared meals)

Note from campground regarding meals:
Being quite remote we need to have a 'one menu fits all' attitude about our food. We all take turns cooking dinner every night, so cooking is important and a great family moment every day! We do 1 food shop a week and since we all eat together, we cannot cater to many different diets/wishes. Catering for vegetarians is totally fine, but only if you are not too fussy (your food can be cooked near meat etc). However, we can NOT cater to vegan/dairy/gluten free diets or heavy allergies. We're sorry but it has proven to be too difficult.

Actividades & Turnos

Because our cafe crew is small, everyone is an all-rounder! A typical day involves general cleaning and upkeep of both the front and back of house. Tasks include washing dishes, wiping benches, clearing tables, running food, prepping ingredients, greeting and serving customers, taking and fulfilling orders, and more.

You’ll either be scheduled on an opening shift or a closing (shutdown) shift.

Times can vary, but typical shifts look like:
• 10am–3pm (with a one-hour lunch break)
• 8am–12pm
• 9am–1pm
• 5pm–9pm Saturday (for dinner service)

The cafe is open:
Thursday to Monday, 8am–2pm
Saturday nights, 5–8pm (for dinner service)
Closed Tuesday & Wednesday

Opening shifts usually start at 8am or 9am and finish around midday.
Closing shifts start around 9am or 10am and finish at 3pm, with a lunch break from 1–2pm.

You’ll work 4–5 hours per day, 5 days a week, with two consecutive days off. This will total 24 hours per week.
