Volunteering at the home was my first ever volunteering experience, and it went far beyond my expectations. Porto is a wonderful city, with warm weather and even warmer people. The host, Inês, was incredibly supportive and always there to help with anything I didn't understand or needed. The project itself is truly beautiful, and knowing that I was able to contribute even a little to it feels very rewarding. The house is full of life, and I felt completely at home from the very beginning. I left the home not only with great memories, but also with new friends.

My friend and I volunteered at the home and we had a wonderful experience! The location is just about 15 minutes by metro to Porto's city center. Even though we stayed only one week, we felt completely at home. The schedule is super flexible, you can choose to work in the morning or afternoon, and everything is done in a relaxed and calm atmosphere. Ines and the other people in the house were incredibly kind and friendly, they always made sure we had everything we needed, and we had so much fun together. It truly felt like staying at a friend's house

I loved my time with Inês, she was extremely nice and very easy to work with. I chose to work in the morning so from 9-1300, then we would have lunch and I spent the rest of my time exploring. Over the weekend I took a trip to Lisbon and when my train got delayed on the way back Inês was super understanding and we had no problems. The two other people in the house are working on their masters degrees so I didn't see them too much, but when I did they were very kind and helped when I needed it. I mostly worked on sanding hand rains and door frames, as well as applying varnish.
