Mi voluntariado en la organización con tortugas marinas en peligro de extinción ha sido de las experiencias más hermosas de mi vida. Proteger nidos y ver a las tortuguitas llegar al mar me llenó de esperanza y amor por la naturaleza. Me gustó tanto que decidí extender mi estancia. Sin duda, una experiencia que te cambia por dentro. 🌊🐢✨

Es una experiencia mágica el trabajar con las tortugas, verlas todas las noches, aprender de ellas, sus comportamientos y necesidades para la prosperidad de la especie. Ojalá puedan presenciar nacimientos, que es de las cosas las maravillosas!!! Por el lado de la organización realmente falta trabajo ahí, ya que no te guían mucho ni te reciben. En mi caso nos organizamos con los demás voluntarios. Turnos nocturnos. Limpieza de espacios comunes. Se comprarte una habitación con los 6 voluntarios, cocina y baño. Se otorgan dos comidas, muy buenas!

Had an amazing time at this project. Can't put in words the feeling of setting the baby turtles free into the ocean. Work is hard as you got spend the whole night walking at the beach and digging turtles nests, but definitely a fulfilling experience that pays off the hard work. Nancy provide the volunteers with and nice accommodation and tasty food twice a day. Sadly I had to leave before I was meant to because of issues with other volunteer. The host is not in the same house as vonlunteers so they (volunteers) would keep the house (kitchen and bathroom) in very bad cleaning conditions

It was an unforgettable experience. Being in contact with the turtles and helping their species continue was truly incredible. The organization provided us with all the necessary comforts. We were able to choose our days off as it suited us, and we had two meals a day and air conditioning in the room. We will always remember Nancy and her family and the privilege of being part of their team. Thank you so much for everything

Great welcoming place of natural beauty and cool local beach vibe. Definetly recommend 100%! I willingly stayed more than expected & got to learn a whole lot!!! S.A.V.E. is a magical place and organization that helps sea turtles' nesting & hatching! My only recommendation for new people hoping to experience this amazing aventure is to be prepared to stay awake from 1am to 6am since the mother sea turtles nest during the night!! You will recieve a comfortable bed to sleep in with AC and you will be fed twice a day!. Also great for meeting new international travelers and making local friends!

Volunteering with the turtles is a wonderful experience and rewarding to be able to volunteer on a project that helps to protect these majestic creatures. It's fun, rewarding and a great new experience as well as an opportunity to be in a beautiful place at the same time. I would advise being fit to be able to do the job properly as you need to da lot of walking on soft sand. You also need to work at night as this is when the turtles come ashore to nest so be prepared to sleep during the day and work at night. You'll have the opportunity of meeting new people and practising/learning Spanish.

My experience at the organization Akumal turtle camp was magical, although the organization could improve. The food is delicious and the team's passion for turtle conservation is admirable. I recommend this camp to nature lovers. Most importantly, it's crucial to work with heart, and this team truly embodies that spirit.
