I loved my time at ACOTPRO. The people this project attracts were so wonderful, and the work they are doing is so admirable. Volunteers contribute to the project, but have plenty of time to explore the beauty of Drake Bay. Alba and Manuel are so pleasant, as well as the other locals involved in the project. Be prepared to deal with bugs, mold, no electricity (except from 18:00-20:00), and no Wifi. I say this not to criticize, but for awareness as it is important to note. The beauty and serenity of this camp is so amazing and so worth it! 10/10 experience thank you for everything ACOTPRO :)

I really enjoyed my time at ACOTPRO. It was a fantastic and very educational experience. It allowed me to immerse myself in nature and experience the slow pace of life here, while also feeling like I was doing my part in this wonderful project by helping taking care of sea turtles and learning from them. The welcome was also excellent. I got along very well with Alba and Manuel, as well as the other volunteers, creating a peaceful and fun environment.

Trop bonne expérience ! Les hôtes sont adorables tout comme les membres de l'association. Super accueil ! On y mange bien on se sent bien ! Expérience super instructive. Nous sommes au coeur the shelter nature et entourés d'animaux. Je recommande !

I had the best time in Acotpro!! Alba, Manuel and all the members of the association were really welcoming and kind to us. The place is everything you need to discover Costa Rica's nature and lifestyle. Don't hesitate to go!! Pura vida always :)

This experience was truly amazing. Releasing baby sea turtles, seeing momma turtles laying their eggs, putting the eggs into the hatchery.. all these things at least every other day if not, daily. I felt like I was really making a difference for the sea turtles. The other volunteers were so lovely as well, I met a group of genuinely kind and supportive humans that I will never forget. Not to mention the hearts of Alba and Manuel, they are here to make a difference and give the best experience possible to all the volunteers. Be ready to be fully immersed in nature, you won't regret it.

Staying at Acotpro camp was a wonderful experience. Here you are filled with nature, ocean, all kind of birds & animals and of course turtles. Helping taking care of the turtles, the conservation of the surrounding nature and the reparations in the camp is a really fulfilling mission. The people taking care of us in the camp are kind and caring, always helpful and considerate. I recommend this project fondly !

Important: Get enough cash before you are on the island, the next cash mashine is a daytrip away and no chance in supermarkets or anywhere near. I enjoyed my stay so much, that I always extended to spend more time here. The food is great, not a lot to work but in October you go on patrols and will see turtles hatching almost everyday. The place is beautiful in the jungle with the ocean in front. But there are a lot of mosquitos, humidity makes it hard to let your clothes dry, electricity only 6-8pm, and no wifi. Just be prepared for that and you will have a great time.

I really enjoyed my time at ACOTPRO!! The work is always fun and not too exhausting and you have lots of free time to explore the area or hang out with other volunteers. I would definitely recommend it to anyone :)

What a beautiful experience! This volunteer opportunity really immerses you in the local culture. I was able to meet and connect with lots of locals. If you're thinking “i need to touch grass” this is the perfect place to disconnect from the internet and reconnect with nature and the world!
