It was interesting learning about life on a boat, we absolutly loved to experience the italian cusine from a local's point of view. It was great we had the opportunity to explore Cinque Terre and other towns nearby in our freetime.

I had a wonderful time in la Spezia, working on small boats, sleeping onthe boat, working with wood, playing music, discovering a bit of Italian culture and food (Fanja is a fantastic cooker by the way :) We even celebrated Thanksgiving on the boat, with a homemade pumpkin pie! The vibe was amazing, and the work could really be very varied from day to day. A short time, but I learned a lot. Thank you again Fanja and Luca for this discovery of the world of boats!!! And see you maybe one day in la Spezia or, on the sea :)

My experience as part of the boatTradicionale team was amazing! I truly felt like I was apart of Luca, Fanja, and Gancho's family. I had the chance to meet lots of people within the association and a mix of other volunteers. Learning about their way of life and woodwork restoration was super interesting. Our tasks were defined (rules, chore chart) and the work was new everyday. If you're a social, flexible, and spontaneous person who likes unpredictability and hands-on work, this might be for you!

I spent 2 weeks with Fanja and Luca. I truly felt at home with them and learned a lot about working with wood, which was my primary goal when I chose this job. Besides the work, there's also opportunity to explore the surrounding towns. I can only recommend it!

Ho vissuto indimenticabili giorni con Luca, Fani, Gancio, Guido, Gi e tutta la grande famiglia dithe boat. Mi ho sentito come in casa, ho imparato a lavorare con bar⁹che, mi ho divertito e ho conosciuto posti e persone bellisimi. Mi sono andato di lì pensando già in ritornare un'altra volta. Fanja and Luca are the most wonderful hosts. They had us at an awkward time in the season, meaning that everyday had us doing something new, as well as having to work around the poor weather. This still lead to us learning so many new skills under their patient instruction, with no dull moments. They have a great sense of humour, always looked out for our best interests, and own the cutest dog Gancho. We couldn't have asked for a better experience. Grazie mille Fanja, Luca, and Gancho!

My stay onthe boat was amazing! I met so many great people and other travelers and truly had an amazing time, the work was enjoyable and I learned so much about maintaining and sailing the beautiful boats. Fanja and Luca and the others are welcoming and fun, they made me feel included with the group and during the events. I would definately recommend to anyone wanting to experience sailing and maintaining these awesome boats, and eating amazing food.

My experience onthe boat was great! Life on board can be challenging at times, you have to be flexible and open minded. If you apply for this position remember that your volunteering work depends on the weather, time of year you are traveling and if the team is taking part of specific events during your time there. Fanja and Luca are full of energy, seriously, there is nothing they can't do! They have a busy schedule and are super involved with the community. They took good care of us, preparing us vegan meals every day (thank you so much!) and sharing their passion for sailing!

One of the best volunteer experience ever. I had such a great time inthe boat, definitely I'll remember it forever. I met so many good people, real friends that got me into there world and shared their life experiences! Gancho, Fania, Luca and the whole association team did the best they could to make our staying as pleasant as possible! They even adapted their meals to vegan options to include the us to the table, very sensible and respectful. I am very grateful for all the moments we spent together. Thanksthe boat!
