Come enjoy beautiful Phillip Island while helping us with some home gardening, painting, cleaning and dog walking. This is our family home with lots of lawns to cut and weeding to do. The house needs repainting externally, as does the fence. You’ll be staying in our caravan within our yard and the chance to explore amazing Phillip Island. Close to 4 supermarkets on a regular block but with a rural feel. We have a small dog too.

Programa detallado

This is our private home in Cowes, Phillip Island. We are all busy with work, study and volunteering (community, Scouts, church, elderly etc.). We struggle to find time and energy to complete the care of the outside of the home and surrounds and have a lovely area to share in the hopes to take some of the work off our plates so we can keep doing what we love.

There's a caravan for you to sleep and use as an office space. There's also a basic bathroom and kitchenette under a covered deck, partly enclosed by the climbing wall. The climbing wall is used daily by our young adult son, but you're also able to use it if you wish.

Depending on what suits your skills and our mutual availability and comfort level, you can complete a variety of jobs inside and outside the home. If it fits our schedule and your skill set, cooking dinners for the family (and yourself) on occassion or completing some indoor cleaning would be nice, but not a requirement. Mowing is the mainstay of the outdoor work, however this varies if the weather is super hot or raining and we add odd jobs such as weeding, painting and watering.

We only have one person/pair/couple stay at a time as we only have the caravan to host you. We have taken all our previous guests to the penguins and picked them up. On the first day I usually give guests a tour of the island and a map.

Things to be aware of is how cold it is, it has surprised ALL of our guests so far. Also, Phillip Island is much bigger than people expect with the following exceptions: 10 - 15 minute walk to the supermarket and 15 - 20 minutes to the bay beach.

Actividades & Turnos

You'll be able to create your own schedule. We are most available at either ends of the day, so being available before 8am or after 6pm, to gather the tools and information you need is necessary. There is lots of grass cutting and edging and weeding if this is the type of work you enjoy. I am also looking for someone who is willing to tackle Spring cleaning outside and some painting. This is areas such as decking, windows and fences where the weather has left behind. Some amount of common-sense, working out how to wash out a paint brush without making a bigger mess or use a hose will be necessary. For 3-4 day stays, arrival day will be the day off but as the hours are only 4 per day, you still have lots of time to enjoy and explore the island. Stays of a week or longer will have two full days off, provided you're happy to work on your departure day. We write this here so as to avoid uncomfortable conversations, but we make the work very manageable.

Reglas

No smoking/vaping, no loud noise late at night, NO VISITORS. Max of two people. Definitely no drugs. This is our family home. Clean and tidy people who respect other people's stuff and space. Happy with being mostly on your own.
