Audrey was an amazing 1st host and an amazing frist introduction to Canada. I've never felt more welcome in a strange place than I did at the farm, everyone there including Audrey, other volunteers and neighbors will become your BEST FRIEND. You can always keep busy with, trying to get the dogs to lose weight, brushing the horses, any indoor tasks and anything new you might want to try about Hudson Bay will be supported. Audrey is all about woman empowerment, she never once called me any dederogatory trems if she did you can feel the love across the whole the farm. <3 I miss Glen(& Audrey)

The farm is a wonderful place to be. Audrey is extremely lovely and makes you feel welcome from the moment you arrive. She is a great help in arranging car shares to get to Hudson Bay, the small town near the farm. The working hours are very nice with a 4-hour lunch break, and also the job varies depending on your skills you can be outside carrying for the horse or inside helping with food preparation and cleaning. Speaking of food, it's amazing; even as a vegetarian, I never went to bed hungry. There are always other volunteers, you can have good laugh with or a heated game of marbles

Honestly, I was deeply disappointed in my experience at the farm. I was supposed to stay for two months, however after 10 days I decided to leave and re-start my summer. First the things I liked were the nature, the locals and the town itself. Unfortunately I found that the advertisement falsely portrayed the type of work, as over 90% of our chores and time were inside cooking and cleaning. Additionally, the horses were poorly mannered and minimally trained. Me and the host did not get along - maybe its my American upbringing - but I found the communication to be rude and discouraging.

I spent 2 weeks with Audrey and other volunteers and I am so grateful and thankful for the opportunity I had and I had an amazing experience. Some days were iffy but they were worth the good days!! I made some great friends and connecting with the animals was my favorite part and I will miss them so much. Thank you Audrey for those weeks I learned a lot! :)
