O lugar é incrível, no centro da cidade, com um grande jardim, com ponto de ônibus a frente, as principais praias 2 min caminhando, aulas de yoga grátis, Claudia e Francisco são tranquilos e atentos, sempre dispostos a ajudar e orientar nas tarefas !

Olive3 was an amazing first volunteering experience! Ericeira is a beautiful town, and the beach is just a short walk away. Work hours were respected, and I really appreciated the flexibility to swap shifts with other volunteers—it made organizing personal time much easier. Joining the surf lessons was an incredible bonus! The hostel breakfast is super complete and the perfect way to start the day. Communication from permanent staff could sometimes be more constructive (especially in group chats). Despite this, I had a great time and would recommend Olive3 to anyone looking to volunteer in :)

I've seen a lot of hostels while traveling and this is definitely one of the most beautiful ones I've stayed in. The garden and the house itself is really cozy and nice. Besides that I could always join the surf lessons when a free spot was available what was really great! The bad thing is that the hostel is just run by us volunteers so the work is pretty hard. Also the owners treated us not very welcoming and expected us to work like educated workers.

I'm sorry you felt that way,
but I think you're a bit out of touch with reality, if you think that the hostel is only run by volunteers, that statement doesn't make any sense, if you knew all the work that goes into it beyond the little tasks you've done.
I honestly don't think you've ever been in the labour market to say that.

I enjoyed my stay in Olive3 Hostel, the hostel is beautiful, a small indoor garden in the center of Ericeira, a unique place to relax and rest. I had the possibility to connect with people from all over the world; the team was amazing and the shifts are light, but maybe in the morning could be managed with more workers or volunteers, because sometimes can be tougher. I had to leave earlier and Claudia and Francisco were very understanding and helpful with me. I am grateful for the opportunity to stay at Olive3!

My experience was nice, the Hostel it's cute and cozy. The volunteers room can be improved but overall for me was ok. I met lovely people and Ericeira it's really a beautiful place. Surfing was kinda impossible, I was there in July (high season) and the school they have the parternship with was always full, so I never joined a lesson in a whole month. They have surfboards and wetsuit so you can try to go alone. Furthermore, I think also the communication can be improved, and more clear instruction for the shifts, there were some misunderstanding due to lacks in this two things.

My main concern was the living conditions - I didn't get a bed in a dorm room but the mattress on the floor in a stable. The ants were crawling on my mattress and the mattress of the other volunteer was about 20cm away from mine (no personal space). No internet in the room. Also, the tips were not shared among the volunteers but just disappeared in the air, I made a box for the tips so during the last 2 weeks of my stay they finally were shared. The working hours were respected, the work was exhausting sometimes - both emotionally and physically. Could join the yoga classes. Hosts were nice.
