Alicia and Elsa are wonderful people and you do have 3 meals a day. However when I got there they were undergoing new management, so things were very disorganized. I was there as a yoga teacher and before my arrival I was told that my work would be 2, hour long classes a day, but when I arrived I was expected to work 5-7 hours each day. I had an issue with the manager, he tried to make a sexual advance and it made me uncomfortable. He did apologize several times, but I chose to leave early after 2 weeks. He was also choosing volunteers based on how the girls looked in their profile.

Unfortunately, my stay was canceled by the host just a few days before my scheduled arrival, despite confirming the arrangement about a month in advance. This caused inconvenience and disrupted my travel plans.

I came to volunteer as a surf instructor and got confronted by the locals multiple times with the argument that only locals are allowed to give lessons. When trying to communicate this with the actual owner he doesn't really seem to care and just wanted me to still work regardless of the threats. The manager did her best to talk with the locals and also got disrespected. I would strongly discourage anyone to apply to this position. On the other hand Elsa and Alicia work really hard to make the space clean and cook delicious food for the volunteers, extremely grateful for them!!

I stayed at Green Belly for a month as the Yoga Teacher. The position was perfect, 2 classes a day as we agreed before. 3 meals a day, as described on Worldpackers. The team of volunteers was nice, we had great time ! The only improvement can maybe be the rooms, they are really small and not really cosy. All the rest was perfect !

I was a surf instructor at Green Belly in El Paredon for one month. Francesca (the current manager) was the loveliest person ever and I felt lucky to have her there. El Paredon is a very social beach town with great surf and a lot of opportunities to practice my Spanish. Green Belly specifically was a bit less social than nearby hostels but was amazing to live. Also some big bonuses were the pool and amazing homemade lunch and dinner daily.

I had a really great time at the hostel! Everyone was nice and easy to work with. Communication was easy and the experience was really great to improve my Spanish. The working hours were flexible as our personal wishes for the shifts were always included. Although it's in a very small village, most evenings there's a party going on or some other event. I would definitely recommend the place for other volunteers as I had a great month and would definitely come back :)
