I was given the opportunity to volunteer with Kire on a short notice after some small bumps in the road. He is truly kind, always trying to spend some time with the volunteers, answering all questions, even inviting us into his own activities. His sense of humor when unexpected things happen is really fun. At the same time, Kire aims for excellence at the hostel so he leads accordingly. The hostel is well-kept, the chores are light but efficient, and we are always thinking how we can make it better, so if you share that spirit, I completely recommend you apply to SDH!

Volunteering was interesting, but it had its drawbacks. The food was limited, with eggs as the only protein source, something that could have been more varied once or twice a week. The room was comfortable and the work simple, but the host monitored everything via cameras and corrected any mistakes immediately, which I found uncomfortable. During my stay, I received a job offer in another country and had to leave early. I explained the situation honestly (and I needed to go out of necessity), but the host didn't understand. There was a lack of empathy, essential in exchanges like this.

I applied to stay 5 weeks and actually extended, ended up staying 2 and a half months in the hostel. Amazing family there, I learned so much with Kire and the other volunteers. Met with Kire's close ones and had amazing Macedonian experiences, also learned with guests and the volunteers. You will feel at home and very well welcomed. As winter was approaching I saw the hostel getting less crowded but never cold. Any season the job is easy, you will get used to it really fast. Simply incredible. Perfect. Thank you so much! I am missing you all already and will come back soon!

From the first chat I had with the owner, I knew it would be a wonderful place to stay at! The hostel is not just SUPER CLEAN and COMFORTABLE, it has a home feeling, like you are staying at your family's house. Kiril, the owner, always makes sure you are having a great time as he is very attentive and friendly. The work is very easy to deliver (cleaning and reception). The place is very well located (10min walking from the main square), with a supermkt right in front and surrounded by shopping malls, which are really handy. You will have breakfast included and groceries to cook yourself. 10/10

My volunteer in the hostel was amazing, I could feel like at home, the facilities are really comfortable, Kire makes you feel like of you were one more of his closest friends, you can talk with him about anything you want or need, he is always gonna listen to you. The hostel is really good located, you can go anywhere by walking in less than 15 min. The work you have to do is pretty easy and you have a lot of time to do whatever you need. The most amazing thing is that Kire will help you with some advice so you can travel around, he even has an amazing bike so you can ride around Skopje.

The hostel is amazing! It was the best experience I could've asked for, thank you so much Kire and Ana! It was a risk applying for a new host with no reviews, just external, but I don't regret cause it was perfect. The hostel was recently renovated and reopened. Kire is a young man so it's like running a hostel with your best friend. Everyday he's improving the hostel so he needs help, ideas and support from the volunteers. You can always count on him and ask anything, he's also flexible about the shifts. But also it's a serious business, he will expect and count on you as well.
