Hello there,
We are looking for assistants for Josip, a young man in a wheelchair. The location is on the beautiful Croatian Island Brac, city Supetar. We are a big friendly family, owners of the Youth Hostel. We will provide free accommodation and food, in return for your help to be Josip`s hands and legs and assist him in all daily activities. We would also need that you help with small repairs at the hostel and to welcome the guests.

Programa detallado

Josip is a student, super friendly, open-minded, and loves meeting new people. He is practicing water polo, is fluent in English, and loves the sea and ice cream 😊

You will find here information about the assistant we are looking for:

We are looking for two people m/f.
Desirable empathic people with understanding for people with disabilities, sociable and positive nature.
Flexible person, up to approx. 36 years old.
Help is needed with, serving meal and sometimes assistance with feeding.
Assistance with personal hygiene.
Preparing Josip for swimming. We have already Volonteer who will take him for swimming 2x per days.
Mostly to keep him company when other family members are not around.
Also we will need help around the hostel, for small repairs if needed, welcoming guests, cleaning.
And having a walk with Josip by the sea in the evening.
Experience in a similar role is a plus.

Actividades & Turnos

Approximate schedule:
Around 9:00am breakfast
Around10:00am preparing for swimming
Around 1:00-2:00 lunch with the family
Around 7:00-9:00pm preparing for swimming
Around 9:00pm dinner and walk


Free time from 13:00 to 16:00.
Both assistants do not need to be available at the same time during the day, only for the certain activities both volunteers are needed.

We would need you from approx. 15.7. until approx. 10.9., end date TBC.
Two volunteers are needed during this time frame. But also one would be okay.

Reglas

Important information: Foreign citizens must sign a contract to volunteer with the Croatian Red Cross. They need to have valid tourist visas to stay in the Republic of Croatia (see the local requirements applicable to your country).
