My time here was amazing, Ana is a great host, she is always there if we needed anything. The job is fun and when the restaurant wasn't busy they would let me leave my shift early. The food was great, Carla is a great chef, me and the other volunteers always had plenty of food and Ana asked everyone when they got there if they had any dietary restrictions which I thought was very considerate. Volunteers had our own room with bunkbeds, private kitchen separate from the guests one, and our own bathroom with two showers and plenty of storage in there and in the bedroom, it was an ideal place.

I had such a lovely time volunteering here! Ana was incredibly helpful and accommodating, making me feel welcome from the start. The restaurant staff, including Scarlett, were amazing to work with—kind, friendly, and so helpful. The work was easy and enjoyable, and the restaurant and Hostel itself is a hidden gem in Portomaio—so beautifully designed and inviting. I'm truly grateful for this experience and the volunteers I met along the way. I highly recommend! Hope to see everyone again sometime in the future <3

With this being my 1st WP experience, I truly loved it. The work in the restaurant was easy and Scarlet was amazing. We were given meals daily which was nice to have the option. I want to thank Ana and her father for the hospitality. I felt welcomed and would definitely love to come back!

Portimão is an excellent base to explore the Algarve, and with two days off per week, it is possible to take short trips to nearby towns. The pool area is a great place to relax, and the volunteer room, although small, includes a kitchen, a practical detail that helps reduce costs (each volunteer receives €20 per week for groceries). Work at the restaurant during high season can be quite demanding. The lack of structured training or a clear onboarding process for new volunteers can make the experience stressful. Clayton is an amazing person, thank you for everything!

Ana was always really sweet with me and the more I got to know her, the more I enjoyed my stay, She is a fun person to be around. All of the staff of the restaurant are amazing and sweet and I'm glad I've meet each one of them. I went on the super high season and it was a heavy work, felt like a real job (which was different from my other experiences in Worldpackers, so I had to get used to it ) which I already knew it would be but because I'm not used to this kinda of job, it was a little bit hard on me… the hours were exactly what agreed on and we had a cutesy little apartment.

It was a good hostel experience. I'm thankful to Ana for what I learned through working in the reception in my time there(even if it was very demanding at times),for her trust and guidance-and to Cleiton for his support along the way.The hostel is in the heart of Portimão,with a lot places in Algarve region in minimum distance. As volunteer you have a space that is designed only for us-small though comfortable and pocket money 20€ per week for groceries. For exploring this part of Portugal it's a nice place to be!

I had a mixed time at the hostel. The location, pool, weather and the girls I volunteered with were amazing but I had to leave early because it got too expensive. I was told that all meals would be included but it was just breakfast and a €20 per week stipend which did not cover decent lunch and dinner. No laundry on site and you need Ubers a lot so costs add up. I worked at reception which was stressful at first. Its a lot of responsibility for just one person on shift without adequate training and sometimes we had to figure things out on our own which felt a bit much for a volunteer role!

I enjoyed my time at the hostel! I felt lucky to learn the ropes of the restaurant and meet incredible people (shoutout Cleiton!) while exploring the Algarve! Working in the restaurant was rewarding, but difficult at first, as you are expected to jump right in without formal training. Expect to be on your feet for 6 hours/day with a 20 min break and a €20/week grocery budget. Our host, Ana, had excellent recommendations and was inclusive volunteers in her plans. While she is receptive to feedback, volunteers need to be comfortable advocating for themselves. Thanks for a beautiful summer, Ana!

I had a good time at the hostel. Ana, the host, was welcoming and kind, and I enjoyed working with Scarlet, who was patient, professional and supportive. The hostel was closed for low season and under construction, so we stayed in a room with only a couch and a shared king-sized bed. It wasn't too uncomfortable since my roommates were respectful, but sharing a bed may not suit everyone. The tasks were easy and well explained (also due to the low season). Overall, it was a good experience, and the room situation was beyond Ana's control, so it will likely be different in the future :)))

I had a wonderful experience in Portimão at the hostel! Both the restaurant and the hostel were very cozy and welcoming, it was my first time with WP, and it was definitely very positive. The owner Ana and the whole team were always friendly and helpful, the work was very easy and doable as it was low season and there were not many tourists. During these three weeks, thanks to the days off or outside the working hours, I was able to get around the Algarve a lot, both buses and trains leave from Portimão and it is therefore very easy. I would definitely recommend this experience!
