Toris and his family have been super welcoming and made me and my partner feel at home. Nothing has been a problem and we've had a really incredible experience- learning a bit of Indo language too! The work is super quick, easy and rewarding- plenty of time in the day to work - surf - and just enjoy the island with little tourists!

The perfect place for a reset. The family and local people are exceptionally kind, caring and willing to help you in any way. While showing you what it means to be a local in Nias. the inn is set on the beach. With many cosy places to sit, work and enjoy the views. The food is nourishing, educational and delicious. If you feel like it you are welcome to buy fish from the fisherman that arrive back home on your doorstep. The work is almost therapeutic Sweeping and cleaning the beach each morning and collecting plastic from the local area. I couldn't recommend it more! Terimakasih

Volunteering at the inn on Nias Island was both rejuvenating and exciting! Toris, Martin and the rest of the family here are incredibly kind and welcoming and I can't recommend this Worldpackers experience more. Amazing people, beautiful location, delicious food, and totally rad waves (what better place to start up surfing than the home of some of the world's best waves!). While beach conservation work ended up being seasonally/tide dependant I was able to help around the Inn instead which was nice.

Our stay at the inn was amazing ! Toris and his family were really welcoming and the work was really easy. The food was amazing and we had the whole day to do absolutely everything we wanted to do because work was less than one hour in the morning. It is possible to borrow the scooters and surf boards (just be aware you are paying for them when you do). I want to say a special thank you to the other volonteers and Toris and Herman's family for the best birthday party I have ever had ! :)

A little paradise !!! The people are awesome and the facilities really good. Toris, Herman and their family are great people !! The work is less than an hour a day and quite easy, the food is delicious, specially the morning banana pancakes! Just be aware that each time that you use a scooter or a surfboard, you will be charge, so ask how much before using them ;) It was a great stay and you can meet really great people volunteering here !

I had a great experience in a beautiful place. The people are lovely and helpful but English is only spoken by a few people so learn some of the local language before to go. You have lots of free time to enjoy the beach and beautiful surroundings. Helpful if you drive a motorbike to explore a bit. Be prepared as beaches are full of plastic but you only need to take care of this area. Check your travel arrangements and distances before committing as flights can be pricey. Ferries are available but long. All in all, a great experience. I'd recommend to other like minded travellers to do it.

BEST EXPERIENCE EVER! Toris and his family are the most genuine and kind hearted people I have ever met. As a solo female travel going to Asia for the first time, this was the perfect choice because they always made me feel comfortable & loved showing me around their island. The waves are great & Toris taught me to surf in just a week. Mopeds (~100k rp/day)& surf boards (~50k rp/day) are available to rent as well! Breakfast is amazing. Such a rewarding experience to help clean the ocean & the family made me feel SO appreciated for helping the community & world. If you are on the fence, DO IT!
