Only spent a week at the camp but loved every second and could've stayed much longer if i'd had the time!! shifts are fair and well-managed, and the camp was really social which made me feel at home as a solo traveller. you are really able to get stuck in with the work that you do, and you learn so much about turtles and conservation. it is such an incredible experience to get to release the turtles into the ocean, and one that i'll never forget. really recommend this organization, thank you to Ricardo, Luis and my campmates for making it so special. please message me for any more details!:)

Indescribable!! Be prepared for basic living conditions but a place and people that fill your heart and take care of each other. The most beautiful place, important work and immersive experience.

I loved it honestly! Luke and Robbie, who were staff members at the camp, are truly amazing! The made the whole experience! Without them, the camp would not be as great! I did my research before coming, but for others I would recommend to read through some comments so you know what you get into. We ate a lot of rise and beans, so just be prepared for that. The camp is located on an island, therefore you are mostly at the camp or around it. If you want to explore a lot of the country or special city's, I would recommend you book a few extra days outside of the camp so that you can explore more.

I love it! It was a bit of adjusting at first but after it was great. Leaving for daytrips isn't easy so you might want to consider leaving a bit of time after your stay to travel for a bit so you can see a bit more of the country. The days are really chill and the work isn't to much. Just don't expect to always have something to do, and relax!! I met a lot of awesome people!! Pura vida!

This volunteer program was amazing. I've learned a lot about nature and climate change, it has put things in to perspective. The activities are nice, and you do feel like helping out and doing every little thing you can for the turtles and the world. The people who come to the program are also really open minded and you'll make really good friends in a short time. Overall the program is good, they're doing the best they can to help the turtles and the world.

This experience was truly amazing we learn so many things ! We stayed only 8 days so we were not lucky enough to see turtles but we saw eggs and we learn so much ! We were a lot in this project so it was fun. The dormitories are not mixed. Food is vegetarian and we often ate beans and rice haha but it was good. Also, there is WiFi in the camp. Maaaany mosquitoes, bring repellent !! About the mission, we took turn guarding the hatchery, we cleaned the beach and the path in the jungle, created furniture to improve the place… Nothing else around but I recommend :)

The team leaders were lovely, approachable, knowledgeable, adaptable and fun! The camp has a family vibe. The wildlife is at your doorstep, friendly locals around, a snacks store next door and a local bar 2 mins away. The location is perfect, right on the beach, a 10 minute walk down will take you to a beach to swim at. The program was an hour of work in the morning and the afternoon with a lot of down time, and enough activities to keep you engaged. Your workload also modified to fit if you were on patrol or working at the hatchery. I loved it so much I'm actually still here!

It is an amazing experience where you get to get in touch with nature, learn a lot about the wild life and the environment, have fun in the beach and make a lot of friends. The place itself is very safe and also very beautiful. You get to truly connect with it and with all the staff members and other volunteers. Definitely worth it!!

What an incredible place! Staying at the shelter was amazing, it's a great place to get in touch with nature and disconnect from the distractions of normal life. The dorms are basic but comfortable and the food is good but just rice and beans on repeat. Be aware that this is an island and getting to the nearest town costs $80 as a round trip for a taxi and a boat. Also be sure to come during turtle season, I came in October and there were no turtle nests that were going to hatch. However, it was the volunteer staff that made my experience so good. Thank you to Robbie, Luke, and Hannah!
