Sam and James were gracious hosts, welcoming us into their beautiful countryside home and garden. The work was varied and fun - from food preparation to gardening to light housekeeping. Probably the best sleeping accommodations I've had while volunteering, and Sam's cooking was “magnifique.” Along with enjoying the pool, trails, and forests, we took many trips to the market and to nearby towns and festivals. As a volunteer, be ready to move quick on your feet, listen eagerly, and have a wonderful time!

This was my first Worldpackers experience, and my time volunteering here alongside my partner was one of the most life-giving experiences I've had in a while. There were certain things that needed to get done (and this was clearly communicated), but then there was so much room for helping in the ways that we were most interested in, allowing us to really help take ownership of this beautiful, special place as a home away from home. I learned and experienced so much through the day-to-day work here that I could not have gotten otherwise. I hope to come back to this second home again soon!!

Had the most magical time here. So very grateful I got to volunteer at Samantha & Jame's the guest house resort. I learned so much about sustainability, cooking, and culture. They are wonderful people!!! If you get the opportunity to volunteer here, prepare for one of the most memorable experiences of your life!

Samantha, James and of course Noodle were a home away from home. The entire family is incredibly hard working and truly have a remarkable holiday home. Samantha is detail oriented, she is particular and very well organized. She will keep you engaged, laughing and always learning. James is also such an incredible host and treated me like part of the family. The overall experience is a good balance of fun, learning and work, with every day being different. From cooking delicious meals for the guests, to the guest house and light cleaning duties my time was unforgettable. Hope to be back soon!

My volunteer experience was filled with lots of laughter, peaceful scenery, and amazing food. Sam and James are kind, hardworking, and knowledgeable people. I learned so much about eco-sustainability & food. The hours were longer than expected on some days but were balanced out with shorter-than-expected hours on other days. Sam makes sure to take the volunteers on fun adventures nearby— like foraging for mushrooms & hiking near waterfalls. During work hours, the tasks are structured enough to create a routine and varied enough to maintain a sense of novelty with each day. Highly recommend it!

France is so beautiful!! After this volunteering, the astute image I had towards France changed! I learned a lot to clean, improve English, delicious cooking recipes, share and enjoy nature!! It's a family with very beautiful values and they want to give their best! Super humble and real people! I have a very nice memory and a great learning!

This was a great worldpacker host. 5 star bed and breakfast. The area is truly spectacular. James and Sam were kind and generous with their place as well as their time. A very laid back atmosphere a place you would want to retire at. The work was easy and satisfying. I had plenty of time to do things on my own also. This is a place you could stay busy but never be over worked. It would be nice to see the garden in full production, but the trees are just now starting to bloom. This is what I envisioned volunteering would be, you are part of the family and part of the community during your stay.

I would 1000% recommend this experience, especially to first-time nervous travelers like myself. The hosts Sam & James were fun, helpful, and kind-hearted, I felt in very safe hands throughout. There was a variety of tasks such as cleaning and gardening which were very reasonable and Sam was very patient and showed me how to do tasks properly if I was ever unsure. I was able to explore the local area, markets, and towns and I learned a lot about French (and English haha) culture. The food provided was top quality and the accommodation was really lovely. I miss it already - thank you both!!!

I had an amazing time with Sam, James & Noodles! They're such great people, king and funny. Their house is beautiful and very comfortable. And the food they provide is just delicious. I felt home away from home! 💙
