I had a great time at the hostel! The whole team was super kind, welcoming and flexible with the schedule. I always felt supported and comfortable, it truly felt like a little family. The only thing that felt a bit uncomfortable was that a supervisor came into the room twice to check if we were doing the tasks. I understand the intention, but it felt a bit unexpected. Still, I really enjoyed my stay and would definitely recommend it to other volunteers, I'd love to come back someday!

Regarding your comment on WP about supervisors, I'd like to clarify that we don't have supervisors here other than the reception staff: me, Fabio, and Heitor.
And Ms. Nazaré. The only person who may have come in to see you is the Hostel Manager, but it's more than normal for him to check is property and not to keep an eye on you.

Foram muitos solícitos comigo antes, durante e depois da minha chegada. Sempre muito flexíveis com relação ao meu trabalho remoto na qual realizei juntamente com o voluntariado, onde sugeri de trocar o horário e me atenderam. Sempre dispostos a ensinar de forma correta se algo não estava de acordo. O hostel tem uma ótima localização onde permite se locomover com muita facilidade, tem mercados, shoppings e praia próximos a fazer andando. As tarefas são muito bem explicadas, tem horários e materiais para que consiga trabalhar com tranquilidade. Fica aqui meu respeito à todos!

A casa é relativamente pequena e as tarefas são simples e rotineiras. Pode ser cansativo se a equipe de voluntariado for pequena, mas no geral o staff é muito colaborativo, sempre procura ajudar e os horários são respeitados. O quarto dos voluntários e as casas de banho precisam de algumas pequenas melhorias. Para quem estuda ou trabalha virtualmente não há muitos espaços onde se possa estar tranquilamente. No geral, foi uma boa experiência, em especial pela ajuda da dona Nazaré. Há shoppings e mercado nas proximidades e também está relativamente perto da praia.

Overall it was a good experience. The hostel has a good location, the task were easy and most of the personal was friendly. You share the room with other volunteers but also with two people who live there permanently. Sometimes this was a bit problematic but we always came to solutions. In the end it was just as agreed before and if you are ok with the conditions it is worth a try.

I had a very good time at the hostel! The work, communication and people were good.The work hours were very respected but the work could get very tiring. The hostel is very good located! The sleeping Situation could be better. You sleep with the volunteers and two men that also work&live there in a room. The room has no door so it can be a bit loud during nighttime. All in all ,I had a very good time, especially because I was there with a good friend. But I think that the work is too much compared for what you get (sleeping situation and breakfast) Thank You for the good time!

In general, the experience was good. Marcia was always very nice and helpful. The room you sleep in needs improvements. The tasks are very repetitive and get boring over time. But I met other very nice volunteers.

I had a very good time at the hostel. Everyone was very nice to me whether it was the other volunteers, the guests or the employees, I met a lot of nice people. The work was very easy though it could be tiring from time to time. The room could use some improvement but except that everything was good. You should know that when I was there everyone knew Portuguese and some didn't know English, but that did not bother me at all, we still found ways to communicate.

Hours were mostly respected, we only had to negotiate the schedule once because they wanted to put me and my partner on separate hours, but we came to an agreement. Work was simple but depending on the demand, it could get tiring. The other volunteers were really helpful and were fun to get along. The dorm was OK, the beds are on the floor and you get some privacy with curtains around it, but there are no doors on the floor, so it can get noisy. The kitchen could have basic kitchen needs for the volunteers. The hostel is close to the metro so it's easy to get to Porto city centre

It was a really nice experience. The work was just as easygoing as described here, sometimes we even finished earlier than expected. At some point, they asked us to work different hours than what was originally agreed, but they were open to negotiating and finding a deal that worked for both sides. Other than that, we never had any issues with the staff, and over the weeks, we built a good relationship with them! The room we stayed in really didn't have a door, but we still had some privacy with the curtains around beds. Overall, I'd recommend this experience.

Muito bom!! Foi minha primeira experiência fazendo voluntariado, aprendi muitas coisas novas & pude treinar línguas! Todas as tarefas são fáceis e tranquilas (Passar roupas de cama, varrer, arrumar camas, limpar casa de banho). As instalações do Hostel são boas, café da manhã muito bom e completo, cozinha funcional, quarto dos voluntários okay, uma pena a bicicleta estar estragada. Referente a equipe que trabalha no Hostel, Márcia, Nazaré, Heitor, somente agradecer por todo o carinho e atenção, são pessoas incríveis e com um coração enorme, vou sentir falta com certeza! 💙
