My time at the hostel was incredible! I stayed for 5.5 weeks, and in that time it became my home. Ana, the other volunteers, and the rest of the staff were all so kind. I will miss them all dearly❤️ The work itself was very reasonable, and Ana was there to support me whenever I had questions. The hostel is the nicest one I have stayed in. It was very clean and modern. I particularly enjoyed the pool, for days when I didn't feel like walking to the beach! The location is good and I always felt safe. The train station is a short walk away. Overall, this was a great experience!

The hostel is a beautiful place to stay with an aesthetically pleasing vibe and decor. Ana is very kind, flexible, and reasonable with tasks and working hours. The staff is very friendly and welcoming and they are always open to helping if there is any confusion. The location has many shops nearby and a huge mall/grocery store less than a 15-minute walk away. Portimao is overall very peaceful with beautiful beaches. It is also close to other towns easily accessible by the nearby train station. My stay at the hostel was amazing and the girls that volunteered there were amazing as well.

My experience was very good, the place was beautiful, the people who work there and my colleagues did it even better, the tasks are very easy, the location is perfect, and the south of Portugal is beautiful. I hope to be able to return soon :) <3

I loved volunteering at the hostel! I felt very comfortable during the entire stay. The place is nice and quiet, as seen in the photos. Ana is very sweet, she explains the tasks patiently, if you have questions or need something she is available to help and cares about our well-being. The tasks are easy and the shifts are informed in advance, which allows you to organize activities for your free days. Thank you for this experience, I take away beautiful memories and learnings.♥️

I had such a great time at the hostel !!! Ana was such a welcoming, lovely and kind host who first and foremost ensured you felt at home and looked after. The work was very easy to follow (mostly helping with checkins/check outs), and you also have the opportunity to help in the cafe when it gets busy. Any questions were promptly answered and you always had a hand from Ana if needed. The hostel is located close to Lagos and Faro, so I explored so much of the Algarve on my time off. I couldn't recommend this experience enough. I am already missing the hostel and can't wait to go back!!

Thanks to the hostel team for having me here. They are amazing people to be with! Portimão during the low season is chill and calm, but at the summer is totally different and crazy.

As I said in the last review, it was quite nice having you here in the beginning. Unfortunately the way you left, in the middle of a working shift, when the restaurant was full and your colleagues needed your help, without even telling anyone, completely changes our idea about you. Specially after we hired you to work in the restaurant. You didn't even respected the portuguese working law.

I had a good time at the hostel, but there were some issues concerning Ana, the Host. She didn't take enough time to explain our tasks, and when mistakes were made, she reacted angrily. Communication was difficult; Ana often deflected responsibility and twisted our words. She frequently yelled at staff and forced a sick cleaner to come to work. Meals were always meat-based even though some of us were vegetarian. Ana only offered reimbursement for supermarket food after 3 weeks&aftewe asked. After we had a discussion, Ana demanded I leave within three hours without regard for my financial situation.

Super glad i decided to do this, the girls i was volunteering with were amazing and are definitely friends for life now. However we all decided to leave early after a tense situation with the host Ana. We felt she handled the issue unprofessionally and without compassion unfortunately. Not how we wanted this experience to end but we did not want to stick around to be talked down to by Ana. Glad we all had eachother as being given 2 hours notice to pack up and find new accommodation isn't the easiest situation to navigate.

I made the most incredible life long friends during my time at the hostel and made the best memories that I will always cherish. I cut my time short along with the other volunteers due to some dramas that unfolded at work and miscommunications which led to a big blow out in the common areas of the hostel. Overall a good experience but management and conflict communication was extremely poor and unprofessional. I hope host Ana changes the way she approaches volunteers in the future as it was a tense unfriendly environment. Glad we all had each other to make this experience enjoyable.

I walked away from this experience with a great group of friends and for that reason I'm glad I went to the hostel. The team in the kitchen were lovely and made me feel super welcome and were always helpful. However me and the other girls left early due to some drama and miscommunication. My experience with Ana was very poor, I felt totally unwelcome and always felt like I was walking on eggshells. I felt she handled situations very unprofessionally and totally lacked empathy. As a vegetarian I wasn't catered to at all, and had to buy my own groceries, I was told about the allowance on the last week.
