The Time i have spent at Mame Guesthouse was truly a remarkable time, i'am so grateful too have came here and meet all the other Volunteers and the Host. The time i got to know Fuga (The Host) he showed me his true Colors. This may have sounded like a start of a crime Documentary but its all Positive and sweet i swear! Fuga is the perfect example of the World packer cause. World packers is not about working for someone in another country, but seeing that country in all its Different Colors. Fuga wants you to experience Japan the way it should be and im glad to work for a guy like him.

Fuga is the host there and he is a absolutely blast to hangout with, it's a on man show and whatever volunteers he can get. So sometimes the work days are super short (like 2hrs) or it'll always be at most 4hrs. Me and Fuga can chat for hours, he's a super fun and interesting person. The setup he's got out there is really unique and I love it. It so pretty and so close to nature. You'll see tons of birds and animals. I'm also a runner and there was tones of local shrines to go run and explore. Overall a great time! It is a little far out from the city so be prepared to bike or get a ride :)

I had so much fun being in Tamba, living and working alongside Fuga and the other volunteers was really fun. There is lots to do in Tamba like skating, kayaking and hiking. It's a really beautiful and peaceful area and the working hours are decent. The share felt fairly balanced and it felt like a team effort! Fuga is also a really great host, he cares about volunteers and sincerely wants to create a good memory for them. He hosts tours, bbqs, hikes for the group and accommodates for different ppls requirements etc. His humour and chill demeanour makes it feel like a second home

It's my favourite so far! For the people who want to retreat and enjoy the natures and engage with Japanese cultures, this is the place. Fuga is very kind and generous and our team is small but close, we went to many local festivals, shrines and spots. The tasks are doable and we always have our me time to discover or rest.

I had a very fun and relaxing stay with Fuga at Kuromame Ann! Tamba, where Kuromame Ann is located, is surrounded by picturesque mountains and rice paddies. Although the area is a bit secluded from civilization, its a great place to unwind and spend time reflecting or working on personal projects. Fuga will take you on day trips to local shrines, museums, and kayaking! He is accommodating of any needs volunteers might have. He also finds work that is suitable for each volunteer's skill set, which makes volunteering much more engaging and personalized. Thank you so much for this experience!

My stay in Tamba was beyond my expectations, Fuga always tried the best he could to share this amazing place with us by showing us cool temples, bridge and more. After a long trip I find this place like another home for me, developing a friendship with the owner as well as the volunteers there. The free days we have can allow us to visit other places like funaya and many more. I was really happy to start and finish an art project and have the input of everyone. Overall I absolutely loved my volunteering and would recommend if you want to discover the country side of Japan. Thank you 🌞

Tamba is very quiet and surrounded by nature, would recommend it to anyone who wants to disconnect and relax. The town is well located for day trips and offers a genuine experience of Japan without the big crowd of tourists. Work here doesn't take too long and it feels like taking care of your own house. Fuga himself is super generous and will make sure you're having a great time, he drove me for trips around and recommended many things to do, plus he's a great cook and there's an indoor grill which is super cool. There are sakura trees right next to the river you might get to see bloom!

Great place for people who want to experience the countryside during their volunteer experience, and you have plenty of opportunities to explore the greater Kansai area as well. The work is usually finished within the 5 hours daily even on busy days, so you have time for yourself as well. We had fun making BBQ's and going on trips in the local area as well!

The guesthouse is a big traditional house in the countryside right next to a really nice river Work was fairly simple so you can explore the area either in the morning or afternoon depending on when work needs to be done Location is abit far out so i ended up cycling everywhere, which was fun Fuga-san himself is a really chill dude and will try to offer tours around the area for volunteers' sake. He is fairly new to the business, having been handed down late last year so he's still figuring things out. However with what he does know he will delegate work fairly depending on what is required

It's a nice experience and adventure. Close to nature and local residents. If you're looking for the countryside that's the good choice!
