We had an absolutely wonderful experience staying with our host family in Iquitos. From the moment we arrived, we were warmly welcomed and felt right at home. One of the highlights of our stay was interacting with the children. They were incredibly open, friendly, and full of energy. It was inspiring to see how ambitious they are, eager to learn and engage with us despite the language barrier at times. They were curious about our culture and shared so much about theirs, making our experience in Iquitos all the more enriching.

My friend and I stayed with the host family for three weeks and we really had a great time there. Although you live with quite a lot of people together it did not feel like it and we spent a great time with the host family as well as the other volunteers. The school is really nice to teach and the kids are great. You get an schedule with the start of your work and you have fixed working times. Our beginner level of Spanish was here not too much of a problem as the kids are willing to follow your guidance. In our free time we had the chance to go to the jungle and enjoy the time at the beach🌊

My experience was amazing, unique and unforgettable! I felt home in every single way <3 The group of volunteers was so amazing, the host family became my second family, the kids at Casa Ainbo are soooo sweet and warm and I learned a lot in Iquitos. I highly recommend this experience to everyone that wishes a true and authentic experience of social impact. The only bad thing is to say goodbye...

The host family is kind and loving. I cooked with them. We celebrated the San Juan Festival together. They embrace you as family. If you respect them and the house rules, which everyone should do anyway, you will be treated with my love than you can imagine.

Volunteering at Casa Ainbo was the highlight of my travels! Each student is so precious and energetic. I had the pleasure to share this experience with the best group of volunteers. The host family was welcoming and sweet. The students and the experience will also teach you in unexpected ways, and you are bound to holding in your tears when you say your farewells!

Everyone, from the host family to everyone involved in the project, has been exceptional! I am incredibly privileged to be part of this exchange. It's rare for me to be at a loss for words, but this experience has done it. With the amazing people supporting it, this project has a very bright future. I wish you all the nothing but the best. It has truly been my pleasure. It wouldn't be surprising if I found myself back in Iquitos once again in the future!!!!!

It was an incredible experience in my life, to be part of the organization Khale and the great they are doing in Belen with kids who are full of energy and anger to learn and women who are open to interacting with volunteers and developing new skills could help them in life is fantastic. I have to highlight Ericka and the teachers who are very helpful and provide you with everything need to make your experience as enjoyable as possible with them. The host family was really friendly, warm, and helpful. And I met awesome volunteers from all over the world and the teachers in the organization were experienced and responsible, with whom I shared many happy moments together. However, as the local branch of the organization just started, there were not enough demands compared to the number of volunteers. Also, language barrier was a problem for me. In all, it was an amazing experience.

This volunteer experience revealed me new knowledge about the local life and its challenges as well as about myself. I stayed with a caring and generous Peruvian family and the time spent with them and other volunteers was amazing. I enjoyed getting to know the children at their school and helping them learn new things. And I learned about myself that I could not be a school teacher but the volunteer was very valuable for self-improving. I definitely recommend this experience to everyone who has motivation to be around energetic children and bring out their curiosity about the world :)
