We had a lovely time in Temanggung. We stayed at multiple places during our stay. Everyone was super friendly and welcoming, we felt like a part of their families. The work mostly included meeting and talking with locals, but we got to teach at a couple of schools as well occasionally. Mas Isro, Mas Aceng and Mas the project thank you for your hospitality and everything you've done for us! Tamás & Zsófi

Me and my friend stayed there for two weeks. His family it's amazing, so charming and always willing to give you food and trying to provide whatever you need, specially Mr. Kozin's mother, she is really really nice and funny. We were working almost everyday, some days just few hours. Our main task was teach English in different schools or in private houses. The people from Morobongo is really really nice and welcoming, it was a pleasure to be able to get deeper in the culture with them. Obviously if you are expecting European facilities this is not your place.

After reading all good reviews about this host, it's disappointing. I was supposed to teach English but the school was closed because of holidays, and he wasn't clear about what I was gonna do for the next two weeks. I was told there was another volunteer at his house, so the accomodation was a house under construction without wifi, a proper toilet or kitchen and the bedroom didn't have any windows. I left on the first day, and just have in mind it's not easy to leave from there. The village is really far away from Yogyakarta and there are no cars available, only host's friends or neighbors.

The project lied to me multiple times about the work I had to do : I was supposed to teach a few kids, the curriculum was supposed to be ready, I was supposed to be with another teacher who spoke english and indonesian so the kids would understand; in reality, I was in front of 40 kids, alone, with no curriculum or preparation (even if I asked him 3 times if I had something to prepare), they couldn't understand me... I stayed 4 days instead of 2 weeks. I put 2 stars instead of 1 because his family was incredibly kind, but that was generally a bad experience even if I tried to do my best everyday

I have read really good reviews about this host and I know that not every experience is the same, actually I think that mine could have been a good experience if the host would have respected what we had previously agreed. Having said that, I would like to prevent other volunteers from the same experience I went through. There was no activities to collaborate with at all. The accommodation is not even close to what is shown on pictures, it is a room with no windows, no WiFi, no toilet, and the entire place looks like abandoned.

I had a really nice time in the 2 weeks I stayed here! Although I didn't really teach any English. So if you want to teach this isn't really for you. It's more about bringing English to the village. I stayed with different families during my stay and everyone was so welcoming and friendly. We did a lot of activities and really got to know the town and the culture. Thank you so much!

My experience with the project family and friends was incredible! Although most of the school was on holiday they hosted me thinking about improving their English and contributing to their community. The main thing it's to share time and inspire Indonesian people to learn English. They treat me as part of the family. Everyone was friendly and very kind! They took me to local places and made me try Indonesian food. THANK YOU EVERYONE! Thanks for your work, supporting your community and turning the world into a better place every day.

We applied as a group of three and had a really amazing experience in Temanggung! the project is a great and loving person, who always took care of us. Firstly we stayed at one of the project's friends, Fatun. She has such a big heart and welcomed us with open arms. After that, we stayed at the project's loving family, that was so much fun to hang out with. Both of them had a versatile program planned for us, which enabled us to get to know the Javanese culture in all its richness. Our work consisted of teaching basic English to children that were 6 to 17 years old. Highly recommend!

I stayed with the project and his amazing family for one week. For me it was a lifetime experience. They welcomed me like I was part of the whole village and a part of the family. The english lessons I gave, were so much fun. the project and his friends always made sure to give me a lot of breaks and time to rest. Every day they cooked for me with so much love. the project was not only taking me to teaching lessons, but he was also a great local guide. the project showed me the amazing nature, local markets and teached me about coffee production and farming and tea plantages. I highly recommend to stay :)
