Hung was an absolute legend and even though half the time I was there was the school holidays because of the new year, he still allowed us to live in the apartment if we wanted (instead I took the time to travel). This experience was also very special. Out of all the volunteers I've done so far this one has had the closest group of volunteers whilst I was here and also teaching the children is absolutely amazing when you can start to see them take on the improvements. Hung was very flexible and also took on different ideas himself. The other workers in the school were all very welcoming

My time at the school was great! The classes are small, so it's easy to teach even if you don't have much experience. The whole team of the school is amazing, and everyone is super friendly. If you have any problems, also outside of work, they are always there to help you. The provided apartment is in an authentic local neighbourhood, and the neighbours are really nice and even invited us for a shared meal during Tet. The other volunteers were amazing, and we cooked together almost every evening.

It's the perfect place and people to be in contact with the true essence of Hanoi, the accommodation has everything you need and the local neighbours are really friendly and invited us to join dinner. We are involved in local activities, such as Hiking in nature. The little kids are simply amazing and I enjoyed teaching them. They provided you your schedule in advance and you can prepare the lessons and organise your free time. All the team of the school is always open to help you and we used to share a local lunch almost everyday together.

At the school you are living together with the other volunteers, you share meals with the staff and have a very lenient schedule. You get one of the best interactive Hanoi experiences while still having massive free time.

I had such a great time volunteering at the school. All of the volunteers were super fun and the staff is very helpful in the classrooms and incredibly friendly! As for Hung, he's an amazing host. He always tries to take care of any inconveniences and simultaneously organizes numerous fun parties, trips and events full of cultural exchanges. Eating veggi or vegan is also easily posssible with the food provided :) For anyone eager to teach, engage with Vietnamese culture, and make lifelong friends, the school is the perfect fit! 🫶🏽

Hung is a great host, he really cares about the volunteers and tries to make the best experience for all of us. The students are mostly eager to learn and the classes are small which makes it easier to teach. The team at the school are amazing people and I spend seven weeks having fun, trying to contribute to the community and learning about the culture. I'm really happy for everything that this experience has taught me and for all the amazing people I have met. 🫶

Hung is a very nice and funny person! It's so good to be around him and his team in the school 💛 I felt very welcomed since the very first moment and I really appreciate that! You'd teach 1 or 2 lessons per day during the evenings. Kids are between 4 to 15 yo 😍. Rest of the day is free to explore around. Hanoi is massive and you have lots of places to go. You'd also share many different activities other than teaching (dinners together, hiking, going to home stay, meeting lots of locals). Thank you everyone for letting me be part of this project. I know I will come back, once more 😅 💛💛

This was my first volunteering experience, and I applied for the content creation position. The experience was good, but I was expecting to contribute more. We agreed I would send 1 video per day, but they only posted 2 of them at the end, with no feedback about how I could create something more aligned with the school or why they were not posting. I only wish the communication was better because I really felt lost sometimes about the work. Overall, I'm grateful for this experience, thank you!

thank, we use all of your videos for future posts, we also have someone else to do everyday video as well, so we save them for our plans, not post all of them in very short time.
And I did send you the instruction of the job actually, i think that was quite clear.
But thank youuuuu, the videos u did are good.

I had a great experience at the school, the first day Hung gave me a schedule and the programs of the classes. I was a little bit scared because it was my first experience as an English teacher and he didn't explain how to deal with the children, but I figured out and it was very formative. The apartment is outside of the city centre, the beds aren't very comfortable, but is very close to the school. I had 2 classes a day, only 4 days a week and it was great because I had the possibility to travel around north Vietnam during the weekends.

The experience was nice, the kids were very lovely and I had a lot of fun with the other volunteers! Hung, the host, promotes some fun reunions and meetings and we all gather togheter. I'd say there are some improvements to be done in the organisation around the classes and the volunteer arrival dates, but I talked to Hung about it and I am sure he will put effort to make it always better. Thanks to everyone that was a part of it. :)
