Susie was an excellent host during our stay there. She was always attentive to us and our needs. Generous and friendly. We were able to connect with nature and the animals. Rizzy and Rebel, the horses, are very calm and easy going. The little dogs and cat are amazing, friendly and cheerful. The facilities of the house are very comfortable, the room is very well equipped as well as the bathroom and the kitchen. I would definitely recommend it and hope to return one day.

This volunteering experience was definitely one of the best. Susie is an excellent host, she is always attentive to you and your comfort. Her house is beautiful, the place and its surroundings are incredible, you will always be surrounded by nature and animals.I learned a lot about horses and their care, I enjoyed every moment with them and with the puppies and the cat who are adorable. In our free time we go out for walks and visit many nearby towns and beaches. Along the way you will always find a castle or an ancient building.I had a really nice time I will always remember it with much love

I would've highly recommended the experience (tasks, place, and family are amazing!), but unfortunately I cannot recommend the host. Susie can be sweet but the day chores + evening tasks and animal care can go overtime. When I tried to coordinate my days off with her, she changed tone abruptly saying I didn't work hard enough to have ALL of them. I was shocked; she'd never expressed this before and I'd done the tasks she gave each day. She said she'd take away fun activities if I insisted and implied I was ungrateful for them. I felt manipulated, taken advantage of, and left a week early.

Kirsten was a great help especially in mentoring Lisa from Hong Kong who had never experienced country life before. The weekend she was with me was particularly stressful as I had warned both worldpackers it would be. When we had finished a happy family supper Kirsten asked me for a day off and I reacted , wrongly, in a bad tempered way. All other world packers would have understood and we have worked things out together. This was sad and unfortunate for us both.

Susie's place is beautiful 🌄 The views and nature are amazing. Tasks with animals and garden are easy and enjoyable. Susie is kind and includes you in local dinners. Driving her car while she was away let me explore freely 🚗 I recommend clarifying schedules to balance work and free time. It's a great place for reflection and independence, though at times I felt more like an employee than a volunteer — clearer task limits would improve the experience.

This was my first Worldpacker experience and what an experience for sure! I've never felt this independent in my life. Susie encourages you to grow beyond yourself, but note that it's not made for everybody because it requires strong mental energy to step out of your comfort zone. Don't expect either to work 25 hours a week as mentioned in the add, and don't be shy to ask for your days off and stick to it. Also don't hesitate to ask questions, Susie will repeat and try to make it as understandable as possible. Exceptional place with great horses and I had a good time overall 🏇

Unfortunately I can't say much about Susie as a host as she decided to leave on a trip for almost my whole stay. I confirmed my stay in 10/2024 and I was not informed about her absence until 2 days before my travel. I stayed 13 days and was alone 10 of them. I had to take care of a house, a dog and 2 horses by myself everyday. I was lucky to meet 2 worldpackers that stayed nearby, otherwise I would have spend all my days alone. I imagined my stay differently and I felt taken advantage of with some of the jobs I got assigned. An experience nevertheless but I was hoping for something more.

I had a lovely stay with Susie. The house was beautiful, the animals were wonderful and easy to look after. I got to ride almost every day and go for lovely walks with the dogs. Susie is a wonderful, very social woman and made me feel so welcome. She invited me to every social gathering and was keen to make me feel included. On my days off I got to use the little car as I pleased and got to explore the beautiful area! I also got to go hunting and ride on the beach which was so much fun. One thing to note is that this isn't a 9-5, the hours are flexible. I highly recommend this experience.

Such an amazing experience! Susie and her family are incredible people and we will really miss all the spent there. Plenty of oportunities to ride and see the surroundings with the little car. If you are with the kids prepare yourself for being very busy, but having a lot of fun of course. In summary a very recommendable experience if you have no problem with hardwork and cooking, and if you love riding, exploring and animals of course.

Susie and her family were extremely welcoming and friendly throughout my two week stay! She provides a cozy room and makes sure you are always fed. The horses, the dogs, and the cat are all super sweet and easy to take care of, as well. Getting to ride almost everyday was truly appreciated! She also made sure I had a car to drive and allowed me plenty of time to go explore. I will miss them all!

This was my first worldpacker stay. Susie is an incredibly kind person. She warmly welcomed me into her family from the first day. The work is varied and especially the work with the animals is really fun. This place is perfect for animal lovers. I would come back anytime.
