Programa detallado

We are consistently in search of hardworking, experienced volunteers to lead hikes throughout the highlands of Guatemala. All volunteers are provided free accommodation, free communal meals, and a fun, supportive work environment. All on-trek costs are covered for guides.

Actividades & Turnos

Guides are expected hike roughly half of each week (3 days of trekking per week). Scheduling is flexible and collaborative. Preparation days before overnight hikes are also crucial days of work. This is a full-time commitment, and things can get quite busy. Time off is encouraged whenever possible, but it is hard to guarantee specific days off. Expect approximately 3 days of hiking and 2 days of office work each week.

Reglas

The following criteria is used in consideration of potential volunteers:

*** 3 MONTHS *** absolute minimum time commitment
Some first aid experience
Basic Spanish; (must make phone calls in Spanish and communicate with locals)
Love of the outdoors, trekking, roughing it, early mornings, getting wet, and cold toes
Great people-skills, endless patience, a love of learning and a willingness to teach.

*please disregard the 30 days minimum stay requirement, as the worldpackers website does not allow to set more days than that.
