Volunteering at the guest house was an incredibly rewarding experience. Stef is a great host and the work is not demanding, yet still rewarding. I made real meaningful connections with many of the pilgrims and several of the volunteers. The setting is a charming small village in a beautiful mountainous part of Asturias. Highly recommend.

This was an amazing experience. Stef was a great host and made me feel very welcome from the beginning. The work load varied from day to day but it was never overwhelming work. The place was clean and well organised. I would recommend volunteering here.

Had the absolute best time at Stef's the guest house. He's such a nice person who ensures everyone's happy and doing jobs they enjoy. Very flexible work which left us time to do other things in the day. It was such a nice opportunity to meet new people, both volunteers and pilgrims, from all over. Stef really tried to immerse us in the culture, teaching us some Spanish, taking us to local celebrations and more. Loved my time there

Super chill place to hangout meet other travellers and feel productive doing household chores; cooking, cleaning & washing and outdoor tasks; general maintenance, gardening & odd jobs. quaint, isolated and relaxing location to recharge or connect with the locals in a small village. Great local bars with characters to meet and some good restaurants. Lots of random little events to enjoy and excursions to be made.

Stefs the guest house is so homely and welcoming. You can pace you day with a certain amount of leniency. The jobs are distributed amongst the team so and the tasks are simple. There is room for creative freedom with certain jobs as well as hands on building projects, along side the daily house chores. The people you meet here are absolutely amazing; pilgrims from all over the world with so many different stories and experiences and the volunteers are truely some beautiful people that are so much fun. I learnt and gained so much here. Stef is a kind generous soul and has created a beautiful home.

Amazing time and experience with Stef!! thanks so much for everything! fully recommended for anyone loving nature, hiking, chatting with people from different cultures, sharing travel experiences, and hanging out in a chill and friendly environment. Great time in Pola de Allande, meeting incredible people and now friends. such a cozy place with huge flexibility for the duties. Tasks and jobs were basics, and adapted to your own skills when possible. Cooking and food was always enjoyable, but delicious veggie meals! In addition, you'll meet many people doing the Camino! Bueno....Gracias!

I cannot recommend Stef and the guest house enough. Throughout my time there I was made to feel unbelievably welcome. Stef is a kind, caring man who is very understanding. And the community he has created at his Albergue is warm, comfortable and respectful. It attracts a certain type of people of whom I was lucky enough to interact with, making good friends with some. The work was not extremely difficult, simply requiring some proactivity. I highly recommend Stef's place to all travellers, particularly solo travellers who will meet some great people there :)

It was a great experience. Opportunity to learn and grow. Stef is such an accommodating host, always checking on his volunteers, making sure we are well. (He is like a father). Knowing and sharing with the other volunteers and the pilgrims was an enriching fulfilling experience. I will always have you in my heart. Thank you🤝💖 Jenny from Colombia and USA🇨🇴🇺🇸

The guest house is a really special place that Stef created with love. It is a place to grow, explore and learn, away from the bustle of the big city with a slow pace of life. But you gotta take the description with a grain of salt. There isn't really a set daily schedule, a set free time or even days off. It's true, Stef doesn't expect much, but your work is implemented into your days from morning to evening. This lack of structure can be a thin line to walk. Nevertheless, it is a really nice experience, that i would recommend to everybody at least a little bit self-iniciative and creative.
