I absolutely looved the hostel!! Cristine is such a loving Manager and also her parents are really sweet and comforting. I honestly haven't felt like I worked there, it was more like beeing part of the family in which you just naturally help with the housekeeping and general tasks in the hostel. I had the impression that the volunteers and their safety and well-beeing were always Christine's first priority, which I really apreciate! To me, Stornoway is such a cute wee city. I often just wanted to take a walk and ended up on a three hour hike. So HIGHLY recommended! Fab experience<3

This was an amazing experience! the work is simple and you are shown how to do everything you need to know. the expectations of you are very clear. this was the perfect way to create new friends and explore the area as the work hours are small and easy to plan around. the host and her family are lovely and make sure that you feel very welcome! this was the perfect first volunteer experience and i couldn't be more grateful it was here at the hostel!

There are not enough stars available to rate this experience with what it truly deserves - I have found a second home within Scotland. Couldn't have asked for a more wholesome environment and family to come work with and for, it was well beyond any expectations I had for my first hostel volunteering experience and would come back in a heartbeat ❤️

My time at HebHostel felt like a dream! Everyone was so incredibly friendly! Christine is an awesome host, she always checked in with us to make sure we were fine and she truly made me feel like a part of the family. I'm so glad I got to meet her as well as her parents, her kids and her partner! The work is very straight forward and I got to meet so many friendly people from all over the world! From Stornoway, you're able to make lots of trips to other spots on Lewis or Harris and the nature is breathtaking :) Thank you so so much for everything!!

I had a great time at Hebhostel! Christine was super friendly and welcoming. The cleaning was easy to do and well organised. We had plenty of free time to explore the island. I really recommend this experience.

I GOT TO SLEEP IN AN AMAZING TREEHOUSE!! From day one, my time Christine was amazing. The team was great, it was almost as though we knew each other all our lives. The cleaning was so much fun, but my best part had to be reception cause I got to meet all kinds of people! Not to mention Tosh and Jane, Christine's parents who are amazing human beings. The best thing about volunteering with Christine is getting to meet her family and watching Tosh play live, or the potluck dinner nights. She is an amazing host, very family oriented and treats all volunteers like members of her family. Stay good.

I wanted to extend my sincere thanks for the opportunity to do my first volunteer at the hostel. My experience was truly enriching, and I learned so much while meeting wonderful people from all walks of life. I highly recommend this experience to anyone considering volunteering. It's a fantastic place to give back while also gaining new perspectives and skills. Th island is incredible and the job is easy you have free time to do outdoor activities Thank you once again for this opportunity!

Christine is an absolutely amazing host! Everything is just like what is on the website. The cuestist cottage or tree house for the volunteers( depends on what is happening around that time where you will be sleeping.) She has traveled just like most of us so knows the life style of volunteering and staying in hostels so it makes a big difference. Her family is amazing too. It felt like home sweet home as soon as I walked in... Totally open arms with kindness and good times. Thanks Christine for everything and safe travels my beautiful friend!

I had an absolutely incredible month at hebhostel, everything was absolutely perfect in every way. Christine is very attentive to the needs of the volunteers, and was lovely throughout the stay. She makes this place a second home, where everyone feels good. In addition, we still have plenty of time to discover this wonderful island, and discover the local culture. I am extremely grateful to have been there, I recommend it 100%!

This was my first experience volunteering in an hostel. It was amazing! Christine and her family are the most welcoming people that I ever met. They are kind and Iovely!! The job is super fun and easy, everytime that I had a problem Christine was there to help me❤️ I've known a lot of people from different cultures and also local people I hope to come back soon The isle is perfect if you want to be in contact with nature. Super recommend ❤️❤️❤️
