Lovely people wanted to help at our mountainside finca!

There was an ant infestation throughout the 3 weeks we were there with no help provided until the last few days after asking for numerous help for the matter, James was lovely but Paul was not, unhelpful we weren't offered a lift once to the town and forced to walk an hour in the heat whenever we did our shopping, incredibly vague about tasks and then complained that we weren't spending enough time doing work when we weren't assigned enough to fill out our 5 hours of work, would not recommend for younger people

We offer all of our volunteers lifts into and out of town for shopping as our reviews show, Adam never asked for this.

Ants are always attracted by food and we tried to explain this to Adam. We gave Adam various remedies to try and help him.

We ask volunteers to clean their room before they leave us, which Adam didn't do. While we were cleaning the room the cause of the problem was obvious, there were food crumbs on the floor attracting the ants.

There are now no ants there.

It is really important to us that our volunteers feel comfortable throughout their stay, part of that involves mutual trust.

Sadly with Adam things did not work out and we had to ask him to leave early.

My partner and I spend 3 weeks here with James and Paul, during that time our work mostly consisted of daily tasks (make sure the place is neat and tidy) as well as occasional guest checkout clean and tidy tasks. Besides those we also did some painting, digging, and stone wall building. There was a lot of down time during the hot period of the days and Casarabonela is quite a small town so I highly recommend that you have something to keep you busy when you're not doing tasks (work, study, etc). The hosts James and Paul are super lovely people, this is a perfect place for a new world packer!

Has such an awesome time at the guest house that I stayed an extra week! It was my first world packers experience and I really can't recommended it enough! I picked olives for the most part and since I stayed longer did some more general tasks around the property. I was able to set my own schedule which was really great. Paul and James were super lovely, accommodating and approachable hosts. It was great to get to know them, learn more about the community they've built and all the comings and goings of the property.
