Finca Martina

If you like to be surrounded by nature and countryside then Finca Martina is the place for you. The views by day and by night are stunning and it can be incredibly peaceful. If you're interested in the outdoors, walking, hiking, or just relaxing, you can do it all here.

We have lived here for nearly 5 years and have accumulated two cats and two dogs, two chickens and a donkey! The bunk room volunteers use has its own private external entrance, so you can be independent without disturbing us. We're easy going and happy to trust you to get on with what needs to be done and giving you peace and privacy too.

Paul, and James are very lovely hosts. Both of them respect your times and don't push you for do something instead of asks everything as nice as possible. My experience with them was absolute good. They are very helpful and accommodating. I truly recommend them! But place is kinda isolated and not too much option to socialise in village but if you are tired of the chaos that cities bring. Absolutely try this experience

James and Paul are lovely people who made us feel very welcome. We mostly harvested olives during our stay there but also took care of their lovely dog Leo and their chickens. It is very quiet there and the landscape around the Finca is very beautiful. There is a bus to Málaga three times a day and James and Paul always offered us a lift to the bus station. All in all we had a great time and we would recommend it to other travellers if your looking for a quiet time away.

There was an ant infestation throughout the 3 weeks we were there with no help provided until the last few days after asking for numerous help for the matter, James was lovely but Paul was not, unhelpful we weren’t offered a lift once to the town and forced to walk an hour in the heat whenever we did our shopping, incredibly vague about tasks and then complained that we weren’t spending enough time doing work when we weren’t assigned enough to fill out our 5 hours of work, would not recommend for younger people

We offer all of our volunteers lifts into and out of town for shopping as our reviews show, Adam never asked for this.

Ants are always attracted by food and we tried to explain this to Adam. We gave Adam various remedies to try and help him.

We ask volunteers to clean their room before they leave us, which Adam didn't do. While we were cleaning the room the cause of the problem was obvious, there were food crumbs on the floor attracting the ants.

There are now no ants there.

It is really important to us that our volunteers feel comfortable throughout their stay, part of that involves mutual trust.

Sadly with Adam things did not work out and we had to ask him to leave early.

A finca fica em uma região lindíssima! Acordar e ver as montanhas todos os dias era muito bom! Com certeza você precisa estar com algum outro voluntário, o trabalho é tranquilo mas é bem solitário. A vila de Casarabonela é charmosa, e para visitar Málaga precisa ficar atento os horários de ônibus para ir e voltar. Duas semanas são suficientes.

I spent two weeks with my partner at Finca Martina. We just met Paul, who made us very welcome. Our tasks were basically to keep things clean, organize and clean the two rooms they rent out to guests. We also did some gardening and picked some olives. It was easy to fit in around our remote jobs. The property is very beautiful, it’s quiet, and the nearby village is really nice. Overall, I would recommend it to other volunteers.
