Fue genial tener la experiencia con esta hermosa familia, fueron muy amables y me hacían sentir como en casa. Los proyectos que desarrollamos no fueron muy demandantes pero tuve una gran experiencia con cada uno de ellos y me siento feliz de haber hecho parte de estos proyectos y parte de la vida de doña Martha. La comida era muy rica y siempre compartíamos tiempo hablando y riéndonos todos juntos

Tienen un lugar lindo, muy hogareño. Sin embargo, durante mi estancia la señora fue grosera y sarcástica conmigo en varias ocasiones, su hijo trata de ser servicial… pero igual tienen un carácter peculiar… la comida es realmente buena, aprendí algunas cosas de cocina y en cuánto a las the home, no se hizo mucho, fue más que nada compañía lo que buscan

Wow! Nunca me lo hubiese imaginado, ya que por el tiempo lluvioso las labores no superaron ni 10 horas a la semana, la mayor parte del tiempo fue solo compartir en la cocina teniendo libertad de hacer prácticamente lo que gustes pero tú mismo lo dijiste "estas en modo descanso después de mucho viaje" y nunca mencionaste qué era lo que te incomoda o qué era necesario hacer para nosotros poder mejorar tu experiencia.

Espero encuentres muchas experiencias positivas!

Martha and her family are lovely. We are from the UK and don't speak Spanish so communicating was a little difficult - I would recommend speaking Spanish to do this volunteer placement. The house is very cosy and we had a private room. The gardening tasks are easy, just a few hours a day and there is lots to explore in Puyo and Banos. You can get the bus from outside Martha's house. Martha's garden is beautiful and you will enjoy if you like being outdoors :)

I loved my stay in Puyo. Martha is a very sweet soul. She cares about the well being and is very flexible. I enjoyed my time there. =)

This experience was amazing! The voluntary work I did was adapted to my knowledge of Painting, I got to paint a mural for the home (the host). She is soooooo lovely! I love her humor so much! She is constantly making sure everything is good, really attentive. The only problem is that you will really love it here and if you have plans after your stay it's going to be heartbreaking having to leave :'). 100% recommended!

Marta was such a sweet soul who was so helpful and welcoming. her garden is beautiful! we did very easy tasks around the house like potting and repotting plants, pulling weeds, for 3 hours in the morning. Marta showed us around puyo, gave us so many day trip ideas & even hung out and went to dinner with us❤️ there's a lot to do in puyo town and the bus is only 40 cents a person from her home. we had such a great time here and as this was our first worldpackers experience, it couldn't have gone better!

Such a great experience! My friend and I loved working in Martha's garden and getting the opportunity to explore Puyo and other surrounding parts of Ecuador. Martha is an excellent host. In addition to welcoming us into her home, she also went out of her way to help us coordinate our activities during our time off. The meals she cooked us were wonderful! The biggest challenge we faced was understanding the specifics of certain gardening tasks. At times, I feel we could have benefited from more supervision and feedback on our work. Overall, I would absolutely recommend!

My friend and I had an amazing stay at Martha's. Puyo is an amazing hidden gem and we had so many wonderful experiences exploring Puyo and surrounding cities (Baños!). Martha cooked amazing meals for us and we got hooked on plantains :) I fell in love with Martha's garden and enjoyed spending time there- whether it be relaxing in the hammock or working with the plants. We didn't end up working as many hours as expected due to rain, but our tasks included cleaning up the trails in the yard, repotting plants, or watering plants. I highly recommend knowing some Spanish to communicate with Martha!

Martha is a kind and very generous host. I really enjoyed my time in Puyo. I've felt right at home which is testamount to Martha's hospitality. It's a cosy home with a beautiful garden. Her two dogs are very friendly and cute. Any questions at all you may have, Martha is right there to help. Tasks are very simple and the hours flexible making it easy to explore Puyo- which there is alot to see! Buses stop right outside the house so getting into and out of the town centre is very easy and only 40 cents. It's also very easy to get to Martha's house as again it is right besides a bus stop :) .

My experience at Martha's place was amazing. Martha is really kind and makes me feel home here. Her garden is huge and very special, there a lot of plants and flowers so if you love nature, this is the place to stay also Puyo is nice town to explore around. I highly recommend to be a volunteer at Martha's place :)
