Voluntario en Bienestar Animal

I loved the experience! For those who love animals, it is undoubtedly an enriching experience and one that teaches them for life. Ann, responsible for the shelter, is always available to help and is super sweet and friendly. The only thing I think could be improved is the place where the volunteers sleep. The caravan is not incredible, but I 100% understand that the focus is on providing better conditions for the animals and they are excellent at that. Thanks for the opportunity! I loved!

My stay with Myrna and Paco was amazing, the job was easy and pleasing as your taking care of the dogs and playing/petting them. There's a lot of them, they even have cats, birds, a turtle and puppies. Beside the job and the animal, the island is beautiful and you'll have plenty of time to discover. Myrna and Paco will give you adresses and dishes to tru, they are really lovely and I enjoyed my stay with them, I would 100% recommand them

Myrna and Paco are amazing! I only stayed one week, but I wish I could have stayed longer! I learned so much while I was here; I got to practice Spanish, learn about what it takes to efficiently run a property with a large number of animals, help administer medications to the animals, and I even got to help rescue a sick kitten from the streets and help prepare it for adoption. When working with animals, a lot of cleaning is involved. But if you care about the animals, it motivates you to keep the place clean! Thank you so much for everything, I will think about my time here for a long time!

Thanks Tory, it was a big pleasure, a pity that you were only a few days there, and little Kasper thanks to you is alive....

I stayed for a few days at Anne Finca. She is doing an important work to save the lives of many dogs and other animals such as cats or horses that have been abandoned or mistreated. She is nice and there are 80 dogs in the finca and the main task is to keep the spaces clean and comfortable for the animals. The problem for me was that dogs were everywhere, even in the bathroom and some of them are aggressive. You cannot leave the property after 10pm and dogs will bark at you every time that you enter the property. I didn't feel free and the noise and dirt were a little bit excessive for me.

Hi, sorry for the bathroom problem, but sometimes the people don t close after leaving, and of course the place is cool and confortable, the animals like to be there. Thanks for the help you gave us.

Overall the experience was very good; if you truly love dogs and cats you'll have lot of time to spend with them. The commitment that Myrna, the host, puts in saving these creatures' lives and taking care of them is really impressive. This being said, it's not an experience for everyone, as you'll have to get your hands dirty and be prepared for not really optimal hygienic conditions, which is fair enough considering the amount of animals that live there. The place is pretty remote but Myrna was so kind and borrowed us her car to explore the island during the free time, which was amazing!

Myrna and Paco are the best hosts I could imagine. They are really sweet and loving for everyone and the animals. They try to help as most animals and people as they can and they expect nothing back from it. They take you on trips, help you learn Spanish (or English or Dutch or German or French since Myrna knows almost every language haha), cook delicious food and are always in a good mood. The work is easy and fun since you're around all the animals and the place where they live is very nice. You have your own room and They even have a jacuzzi ;)

Linde is a very nice person, always there to help you even when she never did it. Everybody closed her in their hart. The animals miss her really, so hopely she can come back one day.

My first worldpacker experience and it was better than I could dream of. The place is perfect if you love animals, and a simple life. Many things to do around the shelter (tracks, beaches) (but you need to enjoy walking or biking). There are quite some bus to move around to. Ann is a wonderful person, the great mother of all the animals living here. There is always something to do here and the work will make you feel useful. Hygienic conditions might make some people uncomfortable, but it makes your body stronger. Definitely recommend and will come back.

I had a great time there! I felt welcomed and everyone was extremely friendly. The work was pretty easy and I got to connect with the animals and meet locals. The place is beautiful! But I wouldn't recommend this to everyone. You work with animals and share a room with them. So if you need everything to be 100% clean, this is not for you. But if you don't mind the dog hair everywhere, I would definitely recommend this experience. I absolutely loved it and I am thinking about going back sometime.

This experience was profound, in one week I accessed emotions that I didn't even know existed inside me, there were moments that I was afraid of the dogs, but both Anne and the other Volunteers made me feel safe and how tô adapt wiht the animals, they really are like a big family, When I thought about giving up, I watched Anne and saw her love overflowing for those animals and it pushed me to want to help more, then I gave in little by little and it transformed me, no matter where I was, I was surrounded by the love of those animals. Apart from the fact the nature is amazing.
