Esta fue mi primera experiencia haciendo voluntariado y me encantó! Fue una excelente decisión llegar a Flores al hostal el hostel, todas las personas fueron súper amables conmigo, se dieron el tiempo de explicarme lo que debía hacer y también me dieron muchos beneficios para poder aprovechar al máximo mi estadía ahí. Agradecida infinitamente con Medellín por elegirme para ser parte de su equipo por un tiempo.

Mi experiencia en el hostel fue muy buena, lo que destaco principalmente es que gracias a Mathias pudimos conocer muchos lugares de Peten y hacer actividades en conjunto. Medellin también hizo posible la organización de las tareas en el hostel, por momentos hubo algunas diferencias que pudieron ser resueltas hablando sin problemas. El cuarto de voluntarios podría mejorar

I had an amazing time at the hostel teaching yoga in a little paradise. Working hours and tasks are definitely doable but most importantly most of the staff is amazing! They made me feel like family real quick. There is loads of time to explore Flores and the area around which was great. Breakfast was amazing 🫘 but dinner could be improved. Diego will make sure you feel comfortable and welcome at all times. Can't wait to be back one day! ✨

I had an incredible time at the hostel; the people I've meet during my staying was lovely and u can really live the flores experience in an immersive way !! Big shoutout to Diego who made the staying experience an incredible adventure, always with great energy and new plans for the volunteers !! Most of the staff is very lovely and they make u feel at home since day 1! In the other side I wouldn't recommend u the bartender position if u are not in to going late to bed or partying in general; weekends can be pretty tough but the staff is always friendly and flexible to hear u and help !

This was my first volunteering experience, and it was amazing! I really enjoyed my time in Flores and the activities the Hostel organized. Working hours were respected and tasks were easy. As a vegetarian, i think meals should improve but most of the time they were okey and the manager was receptive when i discussed it with him. I highly recommend volunteering in the hostel.

A really great volunteering!! Diego and Ricardo's positions are substantial. There was true care, kindness and awareness with volunteers. Everything happened as pre-agreed and even better! We received some invitations from the Hostel to do some nice activities! Working hours and tasks are fine and respected. It's really important to create a good environment among volunteers cause you coexist and co-work all together. Breakfasts are great while dinners can improve a bit. I would highly recommend it!!!

Honestly, i dont even know where to begin with this😅 before coming to flores I thought I would pretty much have a chill month on a small island, but boy was i wrong (in a good way)! diego, the host, made sure we explored as much of surrounding area as possible, which I really appreciate. the owners were super sweet too, treating their volunteers and workers like a family! and everyone else? wow, I felt like I literally made a second family here. I cannot even begin describing how fast this month has passed and I would so love to relive this experience once more!

My role as a volunteer at the hostel included teaching one hour of yoga in the morning, and showing guests around the hostel and to their dorm for a few hours in the evening. Morning yoga classes were held in a tropical paradise, a short boat ride across the lake. The evening shift was fun, easy and straightforward and it allowed me to meet so many travelers. The entire team at the hostel was welcoming, friendly and helpful. Flores was a magical place, I cannot wait to return someday!

Overall, my experience at the hostel was an amazing experience. I met a lot of wonderful people inside and outside of working my shifts and I loved the place I was able to teach at and meet people inside the hostel as well. The only issue that I ran into was when I arrived at the hostel. I had to stay in the volunteer house which I was told when I got there it changed and the place did not seem livable to stay. Because of this I did have to find another place to stay on my own. However, I know that they were doing their best to fix the situation and I understand changes happen.

My time in the hostel was a great experience. I learnt so much about Guatemala and its people, saw some of the best sunsets and I am leaving with incredible memories. If you like to party and have fun, this is the place for you. The island isn't big so there aren't a lot of things to explore nature wise, but it's a very relaxing place. The work in itself is very easy, the only issue I had was with the bar manager who was a terrible communicator and never had me do the fun stuff even when I asked. Everybody else was great, I had the best time and definitely felt at home!!
