La Experiencia

Hi There! I am Simone and I run a small tropical apartment complex on the beautiful tropical island of Curacao! The apartment complex is old so I'm always busy renovating, painting, gardening, cleaning, refurbishing etc. etc. I could really use some help! Who wants to help in making this tiny tropical paradise even more beautiful? Of course, you can also enjoy everything Curacao has to offer (diving, snorkelling, hiking, bars and restaurants).

Me and my friend Nick have stayed at the hotel for 13 Days total, it was our first Trip and definitely a great start. Simone and her boyfriend Will have been great hosts, when we had any issues, no matter workwise or in our free time, they also had a helping hand. They are some of the most genuine people i've met so far! If you want to see Curaçao, get great local tips and also want to get some working experience while saving money and meeting new people… I would definitely recommend a stay at the hotel 👍👍👍

Volunteering at the hotel was a great experience. The working hours were ideal — 7 a.m. to 12 p.m. — and we had plenty of time off to explore the island. Simone really cares that volunteers get to know Curaçao and even helped us with a car rental, which made everything super easy. And Will, Simone's boyfriend, is honestly one of the most interesting and coolest people I've ever met — incredibly smart, funny, and just a great person to be around. And with their three lovely dogs, the hotel really feels like special place.

I learned so much at the hotel, I feel like a new person :) Simone is great, very efficient, knowledgeable and provided everything to make me feel comfortable, gave a lot of recommendations to visit the island and even provided a bike and beach gear! I didn't have much experience with diy but she patiently taught me, with humor and energy. A couple of things to keep in mind before applying is that the job is physical and the temperatures are high, in March it was 30 degrees on average, I didn't mind but I think volunteers should be aware. Wish Simone all the best, Curacao is great ♥️

I had a wonderful stay in the hotel! Me and my friend had our own appartment which was freshly renovated! We worked in the morning and got all afternoon to explore the beautiful island. Simone is a flexible and caring host. She gave us many tips about the island.

I really enjoyed my stay at the hotel! Simone made us feel welcomed the first few seconds we arrived. Some tasks are easier than others, for example working outside is harder than inside, however we work from 7:30 to 12:30 so the first few hours are not that bad, and you have the rest of the day to go do something fun! Simone was also helpful with providing information on where to go and what you can do. She also provides bikes. There is a supermarket nearby and a bus station. However the food is not provided, so it's a little expensive. But overall, I recommend a 100%!
