Teach English to children in a lovely community in Laos!

Esta fue mi primera experiencia de voluntario, y la verdad es que no podría haber sido mejor! Tanto el personal como el resto de voluntarios me hicieron sentir como en casa desde el primer día. Los niños tienen muchas ganas de aprender y se esfuerzan mucho. La única pena es qje me hubiese encantado quedarme más de dos semanas pero no tenía más tiempo :(

Fue mi primer experiencia como voluntario y la recomiendo 100%! El ambiente con el equipo encargado y el resto de los voluntarios fue excelente, la comida muy buena y abundante. Tanto las tareas a realizar en el lugar (carpintería, jardinería, cocina, etc.) como las clases con los niños se realizan en equipo y se disfrutan en todo momento!

Iba a participar en el proyecto sólo para 1 semana y al final me gustó tanto la experiencia que la amplié a 2 semanas. Los niños de la escuela, están súper motivado en aprender Inglés, y son muy amorosos, ha sido una experiencia muy gratificante. Luego, hemos aprendido de permacultura, gardening, Compost, y cocinado típica comida Laos. Mor y el equipo de personas que llevan el proyecto realmente han sido muy flexibles, nos han llevado a algunas Lagunas, a ver el Mercado y a un campo de Naranjos. El lugar, una terraza colocada encima de un lago es un entorno espectacular. MARAVILLOSO!!!

Este voluntariado ha sido genial! Por las mañanas ayudas con cosas de la casa, del jardín o lo que necesiten (en mi caso a hacer rejas de bambú). Luego por la tarde, de lunes a viernes das clases de inglés a 2 grupos de niños (uno de 5 a 6 y otro de 6 a 7). La gente de la organización es maravillosa, con los voluntarios es fácil crear una pequeña familia y siempre se adaptan a tus necesidades. Recomiendo 100% esta experiencia para aprender a valorar lo que tenemos, conocer mejor la cultura laosiana y tener un recuerdo único! Gracias la organización, gracias Mor y Jou!!

Lo recomiendo al 100. Es un lugar paradisiaco, repleto de naturaleza. Los anfitriones te hacen sentir como en casa y además te dan la oportunidad de ayudar a niños y niñas con el inglés. Una experiencia que sin duda, merece la pena y hay que vivir. Gracias Morlor y Joulee!

Although this project is intended to help the local community, the execution is not there. The leadership of this project is very poor, where it seems like the goal is gaining money from volunteers. The leadership is exploiting local staff with unfair wages and ridiculous working hours. The facilities for staff and volunteers are AWFUL, the hygiene is non existent. Almost every single volunteer was sick when I was there. I got very sick there too and left early. I really wish this project was lead differently, and actually supported the local community. Very disappointed

While you stayed with us, you did not seem to have any questions; if you had some doubt, WE HAVE ACCOUNTING MANAGEMENT AND ALL SYSTEM, please ask! You are always welcome to ask about our management instead of thinking everything on your own, and we are not really sure what you expect from volunteering in local areas, as our resources are totally different from your expectations.

2 inital weeks thst turned into 3, maybe I'd even extended to 4 if there would be not more of Laos to explore! :D From the first minute the team is so welcoming and you instantly feel home at this cozy place surrounded by such a beautiful nature! Teaching the kids was super easy and they were really eager to learn, especially the second class made big steps during my stay which made it even more fun :) The thing about this volunteering is that it doesnt end with the teaching, it's more like an complete camp, you spend almost your whole day with other volunteers, play, talk... so fun! :))

I had such a great time at Sae the organization. I stayed for two weeks but I would have stayed more! Steven, the volunteer coord., was very welcoming and he always took care of us and made sure we were ok. The accomodation was simple but comfortable. The working hours were as described and we had a lot of free time. For me, it was a perfect combination of English teaching and manual work. the organization team was amazing. Getting to know them was a real opportunity to learn all about the culture, food,... Just what I was looking for! And also the most amazing landscape! I really recommend SaeLao to everyone!

A truly beautiful and enriching experience. All the classes follow a curriculum and each lesson is structured which makes it easy if you've never taught before. The Laos and volunteering team is incredible, always there to answer your questions and help you. I am so thankful for everyone at the project for their kindness, passion and involvement ! I completely recommend this volunteering!

I spent 3 weeks volunteering with the project and absolutely loved it! It has been the highest goodbye so far of my trip to say goodbye to the wonderful Laos team that work there and the children in the schools. A really beautiful experience that will stick with me forever. I do wish that volunteers were able to have a little more say on what is working or not working in the curriculum though, especially if we have a career in working with children. However, everyone tries super hard and you feel part of the team instantly! Thankyou Sae the organization!
