I loved the time I spent at the hostel! The other volunteers and staff were always so welcoming and amazing. The hostel itself was beautiful and I had so much fun getting to practice my Spanish. I would definitely recommend volunteering here!

The hostel was an absolutely incredible experience, everyone was so welcoming and positive and fun! It's a great balance between a party hostel in the evenings and a place to relax during the day. I will truly miss working at Tropi and I am so grateful for new friends and the new experiences I was able to have while spending the month here!

After 5 volunteerings with worldpackers, this has been the best experience so far. The staff, managers and owners of the hostel are so kind and welcoming; you always have support and good vibes from them every day. The hostel is in a great location of Antigua and with many things you can do around Antigua as well, trekking in volcanos, beach, lakes, mountains. I hope I come back soon.

I don't have enough characters to write about my sh*tty experience in full so, in short - I volunteered to do photography, they accepted my application and when they confirmed my dates, I booked my flights, which cost me £700. When I arrived on agreed date, the staff were obviously not expecting me. Later that evening I was told by who I'm assuming is the assistant manager, that there 'wasn't any photo opportunities'.. so he asked if I could do bar work instead.. I politely declined for obvious reasons and he didn't even have the decency to respond to my message. I left, the end.

Volunteering at the hostel was a lot of fun. I met incredible people, especially the staff from the hostel, who ended up becoming really good friends to me. However, the work itself felt like a job; it could be tiring at times, and you might feel like you don't have enough time for yourself. If you have the night shift, you'd work a bit longer than five hours. Overall, it's a lot of fun, so it would be perfect for you if you're looking to party.

Volunteering with the hostel helped me connect with travelers all around the world and made me less alone traveling to a solo country by myself. I made countless memories with the hostel that way in Antigua. However, at times the bar management was a bit tough in my opinion to me as a volunteer. There was some circumstances where I felt like the respect level was not there which to be honest made my experience not a perfect 4/5 with the hostel. They are great at accommodating you into Antigua but I think it's a hit or miss if you connect with some staff members.

Hands down the best place to volunteer in Antigua! Some of the others volunteer and I had no prior bartending experience and they were very patient with teaching us everything we needed to know. Super flexible and accommodating with scheduling to allow for time to explore around Antigua/Guatemala. There were always opportunities to go out in the evening after the shift to party with others. The best part was definitely all the people that I met- it made being at the hostel feel like home away from home <3
