El voluntariado en su totalidad fue una experiencia muy buena, las labores se pueden hacer sin problemas dejándote horas de sobra en el día para disfrutar de tu tiempo en la ciudad así que solo puedo agradecer haber podido tener la oportunidad de formar parte del equipo. Además no puedo finalizar mis palabras sin recalcar que la realidad superas lo que se describe al leer al oferente, dan mucho más por lo que sobrepasaron mis expectativas. Millones de gracias por todo.

La experiencia en general fue positiva y lo recomiendo, lo mejor de todo fue conocer a las demás personas de voluntariado que la gran mayoría son super amables y simpáticos. Hice buenas amistades y pude practicar mi inglés. Por otra parte habían días que el trabajo se hacía duro o monótono y sin duda alguna, algo para mejorar es la estadía en las habitaciones, personalmente mi cama era muy incomoda y estaba para cambiar, fue duro dormir con dos personas más porque tenían otros horarios y llegaban super tarde y te despertaban a media noche. Pero en general es una experiencia que hay que vivir

NO RECOMMENDABLE, suscribo totalmente las palabras de Jhonier. Yo no aguante la experiencia y me volví antes. NO ES UN VOLUNTARIADO, ES UN TRABAJO DE LIMPIADOR/A. El trabajo consiste en limpiar baños y habitaciones profundamente, hasta el punto de que te dan un destornillador para limpiar la caca pegada a los vateres. La cocina no está equipada, desaparecían cosas y cuando solicité una sarten, en un primer momento, me dijeron que me la comprara yo en el Lidl. No se fomenta el ambiente de voluntariado, hay personas viviendo allí desde hace tiempo que hacen la convivencia muy incómoda.

It's so sad to know that you did not feel comfortable here in London doing your Volunteering job - I remember the day you suddenly left saying you were not well and missing your family so much that you have decided to go back home you looked unhappy staying with us.

About your review I am surprised at your version of events and you did not know that Housekeeping Volunteering job means to take care of the day to day running of the hostel - We have explained that cleaning is part of the task to volunteer with us and in exchange for 20 hours we provide an accommodation. The rest of your day you can work or visit the city.

You have assumed that Volunteering meant to have a salary, so you were surprised to know that was not like that - Why you did not come to speak to me about this assumption?

You have mentioned that they have asked you to clean a bathroom with a screwdriver? That would be so wrong. We have brushes and cleaning tools for the cleaning.

You have mentioned Jhonier in your review - I was happy to see that you have made a friend when you were here - You looked very unease at the beginning of your stay and your fellow volunteers’ colleagues were worried about you because they saw you a couple of time crying alone in the smoking area sitting on the bench. In the future, please ask all modalities before applying or committing for something that you are not comfortable. Be vocal and communicate in your future placement.

NO RECOMMEND, esta fue mi primera experiencia como voluntario y fue terriblemente horrible ya que no te tratan como voluntario si como un trabajador, no tienes la ayuda de ningún trabajador porque el trabajador eres tú, los compañeros son irrespetuosos y te hacen la convivencia incómoda en todo momento por no llevar la religión o costumbres de ellos, además no son voluntarios son persona que viven allí por razones legales o económicas, razones que respeto, las tareas son muy fuertes y el alojamiento es horrible cocina no equipada y habitaciones muy incomodas.

I am really sad and also sorry to hear that you were not comfortable and feeling bad during the time you have spent here at Davies Court -

I saw you few times and you have never showed you unease - You looked so kind, gentle and perfectly at ease working and living here -

It's so sad that you have never come to speak with me about the issues you were having in the flat with your flat-mates - Maybe It could have been much easier for you and for sure i could have helped you to overcome the situation there -

We are here to help and support to help all Volunteers having a pleasant experience but we can do it only if people talk to us when they are experiencing bad moments -

About the Volunteer program we have always been very clear that it's about Housekeeping which involve lots of cleaning and keeping the hostel in tip top condition - In exchange we offer accommodation use of the Gym and a weekly Voucher in food -

This was my first volunteering gig and had a great time meeting and making friends. Clean amenities and strict hygiene rules which made everything in good order. Great place if you want to be somewhere central and close to the city

Difícil começar a escrever sobre uma experiência maravilhosa como essa, só tenho algo a dizer: nota mil. Foi meu primeiro voluntariado e todos tiveram paciência comigo por não falar muito bem o inglês. Franco e Jorge são pessoas maravilhosas e toda a equipe também. O trabalho é bem fácil, as horas são cumpridas sempre e temos direitos a compras semanais de £20. Na realidade eu não poderia estar mais feliz e triste, sinto que uma parte de mim irá ficar em Londres pois essas pessoas ganharam meu coração, em pouco tempo que estive aqui fiz muitas amizades com outros voluntariados e moradores ❤️

This hostel was my first volunteering experience & I can say that I was able to achieve my goal: to spend a lot of time in London while saving money. Volunteering is cleaning, which is not light work anywhere; but having a friendly & respectful environment is the key to enjoying it. I take many people with me in my heart, with whom I was able to share not only the space; but experiences, learning, laughter and company. I must confess that I felt very nostalgic the day I left cos the hostel became my home. I always felt surrounded by a lot of love. Thank u for having me 💞!

My experience with the team and fellow volunteers was very positive. My English is quite basic, and the leaders were always patient in providing daily instructions and found ways to ensure effective communication. I felt welcomed and was very well received. Thank you, wonderful team!
