Johnny and Katie are amazing hosts! They're very respectful of your time and make sure you have everything you need. You will do various tasks such as handy work and cleaning. The home is in a great location out of the hustle and bustle of the city center but only a short scenic walk up the river away. The town of York is cute and they have great walking tours available. Thank you for a great experience Katie and John!

It was a really nice experience and the group of volunteers was really working together. Johnny and Katie thank you for everything. I really had the opportunity to enjoy York while I was here, I recommend this experience you have everything you need to feel comfortable and motivated to help them around the houses

Definitely come if you're into building/renno work and want to spend some time in the beautiful north of England. Johnny and Kat are great, helpful accommodating hosts. The place is a stones throw from downtown York and right next to a lovely park/river

Working with Johnny and Katrin was a pleasure. It was a great experience. Both very kind, calm and who cared about my well being while I was volunteering. There you make your own food, but they provide all the basic food for that. The work at first seems complicated, but Johnny is very patient and delegates the tasks according to his knowledge. If you want to learn new things, then this is a good volunteer position. The working hours were respected and the city is beautiful! Lots of green and lots of history. I highly recommend the experience. Thank you for everything!

Im gonna miss them! It was a really cool experience, We work the hours that we are supposed to and Johnny is very friendly and patient and would explain things to you if you wanna learn, you get to learn different things depending of what is needed, you share a room with volunteers so is a cool way to meet other people, and Katie and Johnny are very welcoming, they do bbqs every now and then, you get plenty of food to cook at the house, also is very close to down town, you get there in 15 min walking by the river and park :) they very funny and kind couple 💖 thank you for everything guys!!

This was my 1st Worldpackers placement and I had a fantastic experience! I felt daunted when I first arrived as I was the 1st worker there and the house was in shambles but by the time I left 2 weeks later everything was coming together nicely, I felt very comfortable and had met some great new friends ❤️ Johnny & Katie were wonderful hosts including us in dinners and bbqs with their family and friends. Johnny took myself and another worker out for a fun day of archery and knife throwing and the next day I went with them to a car boot sale! I look forward to returning!! Thanks guys ❤️

It was a wonderful experience, everything that had been agreed was fulfilled, they are very sweet and gentle people, the work is also quiet, I only had some complications with the other person who was also a volunteer but otherwise it was a amazing experience.

It wasn't hard work, it wasn't an awful experience. Though, my review from them might not be great solely because of how I cleaned one room which is understandable. I was in a rush to clean the second i don't think I cleaned the first one properly, I apologized and was asked to leave, though I understand the frustration, I think the way one of the hosts handed it was inappropriate and not called for, the one yelled at me like a child. It made me extremely uncomfortable. I am glad I am out of there and have another great experience coming soon. I wish anyone next luck with these hosts.
