The farm is not far from the town but not easy to approach, especially in rainy weather. Volunteers do everything which is needed to run a farm. Sometimes it contains hard physical work, but it is not typical. None of locals at the site speaks English, therefore at least basic Spanish skill is highly recommended. Electricity are provided from some solar panels at the site therefore access to electricity (like wifi/internet or recharging your mobile) is strongly limited. Your experience will be highly depended on other volunteers at the site. Good team collaboration is a MUST here.

I had a nice experience at Roo the farm, elmer and wilbert were kind and caring. Getting to know the area and the village was incredible, the river was so much fun and the facilities were great too! The food of Elmer was a great local food :)

The farm was a great time! Living in the jungle is such a special experience. Be prepared for the jungle: The rivier can cut you off from the outside world when it rains, the wifi rarely works (so I used data) and there is only power during the day (solar). Then the good part: The tasks were hard and often physical but we only worked for 3-4h/day. The rest of the day we spent at the river, going to town (20min walk) or just chilling in the hammocks. The food Elmer cooked was amazing. After this stay you will revalue so many things, I recommend this farm!

We arrived at Drake Bay, and Met Emilio a Nice man. But we choose not to volunteer, becuase of personal reasons and the wet season. Its really important that you watch all the videos before you go, and if you dont speak spanish let someone translate whatever is Said in those videos:)

The Farm is a wonderful place to try and live completely in the jungle and learn a lot about conservation and local biodiversity. You can also observe a lot of exotic animals. Where you live is very cosy with some tents and hamacs, and you can find a lot of food in the land if you know where to search. Emilio and his whole family are very very good people and will treat you as family. During my 3 weeks stay, my spanish became very good ! I thank everyone at the farm with all my heart for the exiting, adventurous and awesome experience I had ! I'll try to come back !

AWESOME! Emilio and his family were really kind and lovely The farm is incredible, in the middle of the jungle, it is the best way to disconnect from everything! The work is very easy and you have a lot of time to enjoy the beautiful place. I highly recommend, it is a great experience :)

Overall the experience is very good and I don't regret it. It is not often that one gets a chance to camp in the middle of a rain forest. However the setup and the facilities provided are poor and can be much better. The camp is in the jungle 35 min walk from the nearest town. The tents provided are in bad shape so better bring your own. Work is very minimal and easy. Overall this is a lovely and unique experience but it's somehow not for the queezy since insects and little animals are everywhere and I wish the facilities were better.
