I enjoyed my time here and I'm still actually enjoying it! This place helped me to open up myself, to make new friendships and to start to build a new life here in the Netherlands. The work it's okay, it's quite heavy some days but you just have to get used to it. In the hostel everyone is really kind and nice, all the staffs help you to feel comfortable and to feel just like at home. It's the right place if you want to practice different languages because you can meet people from all around the world.

I loved the volunteers always willing to help others and super friendly 🙊,but honestly the work is VERY HARD , they do not mention that we also had to clean the hotel that is next to the hostel, the empathy in my short stay barely existed ,and I'm writing this because of 3 experiences that I had with other people who work here and a lady who was the manager , put pressure on me to be quicker when I had to clean, my back was super sore once when I was working and this girl told me that it was really unnaceptable to clean that slow knowing that this is a VOLUNTEERING, not a JOB

The hostel was my first experience as a volunteer and it was amazing! The atmosphere in the hostel is fantastic. From the first moment you feel welcomed, both by the rest of the volunteers and by the hostel staff. the hostel is wonderful and there are always things to do in the company of other volunteers. As for work, we have to clean the hostel and the hotel next door. Sometimes the job can be demanding. But all the volunteers help each other, which makes everything easier. I would certainly repeat the experience!

I was very disappointed with my experience here. Here's why : -cold reception, no information about the hostel, activities of the hostel or even for the daily life here. You have to fend for yourself when you arrive. - The volunteers literally sleep in a cellar with a small window that does not open. It is dark during the entire day in the room and the dormitory of 8 cannot be ventilated. - the hostel managers don't organize anything for the volunteers. No event or friendly moment is planned,the managers don't care about the experience offered, they just want to clean their hostels for free.

Volunteering at the hostel is a great experience for both first time or experienced volunteers. The hours and tasks are very well organized and the hostel holds a great atmosphere for the staff and the guests. Plus the people are friendly and will be glad to help however they can, the hostel is located right in the hostel center, it's very easy to travel from the Netherlands to other countries...so staying here can work for whatever kind of nice experience you're looking for. I'm glad I chose to spend a few weeks here. Thanks guys for a really nice time!
