It was a wonderful experience that has allowed me to get to know the cruel reality of some animals but with the help of this organisation most of them are moving forward. They da great job, especially considering the resources and staff they have. I wish there were more people who care for and love animals so much. As for the food, they provide you with the basics to cover your needs and the accommodation was also basic but enough to be able to spend a few days. Thank you for everything, it has been a pleasure to be part of it and do my bit. See you soon MAA✨💚

My experience was a roller coaster from day 1. Picking up poop and cleaning (no hygiene measures) changing water, feeding (no right tools neither good food/drinking water for the animals) and walking 1-2 dogs were my day-to-day tasks. Here youre able to learn about the reality of animals in the organization. The conditions of the stuff house and the shelter were not the best. You get to meet internat and local people and share great memories. Its a volunteering for true the organization lovers since the only thing that compensates it is the love and gratitude that you can see reflected in the animals' eyes.

Hello Mariana,

Thanks for your honest review! A roller coaster is a great word, as it's the reality of the animals condition in Morocco.

We know that the conditions are not the best at the staff house and the shelter, and that's why we always told it to our volunteers in our FAQ before they come so they can prepare themselves.

We were happy to welcome you, as we know you were one of the true animal lovers.

Our precious animals thank you a lot as our team.

I don't even know where to start. The experience itself was pretty traumatic. The way they deal with the cats is far from being ethical and I seriously have my doubts that the people from the adiministration care about the animals. Because nothing, not even the money excuse, can justify leaving cats 24/7 in a little cage with no possibility to exit the cage and walk even 1 minute for months, even a year. This is just an example. They will always have a ready answer for everything you suggest could improve, they are not open to dialogue and they play always the guilty card. Don't come here.

Hello Caterina,

We accept every comments and are open to discussion and suggestion, but we will never accept people to talk about our care about the animals as we clearly sacrified our lives to them.

The "money excuse" as you said is a terrible reality but how horrific she is, it is our reality. We are craving for it, so our animals. We don't want cats to stay in cages, we are all against this idea, but if you have any other solution with our means then we really wants to know how?
Any cats stay months at the main shelter, as when they are healthy again they are going back to there territory or to our cat house garden.

We are open to dialogue, and every one can say what he suggest, but you need to understand that we are working there every day. What chocked you also chock us daily, but we have no better possibility, it's that the hard reality of the animals conditions.

We need people who try to improve this with us, understanding that we all have great ideas, but we need actions.

The animals really need help and it is easy to focus on that, HOWEVER the experience is diminished greatly by disrespectful micromanagement. On sight leadership at the shelter are overwhelmed and poor communicators and extremely disrespectful to new volunteers. The owners micromanage and use volunteers like disposable diapers. Lack of gloves and tools to clean sick dog and cat feces/urine is common Staff house is cockroach infested. All of the volunteers I met made it tolerable, but I didn't sign up to be treated with total disregard about my health or well-being. DON'T GO HERE

Hello Jan,

I am really sorry to read that you didn't enjoy your stay with us but it's important to stay honest and fair at least please. You stayed only two days so it's not fair to give such a definitive idea of our work or management. If you had a problem with a person it doesn't make a generality of our team. And moreover you can't tell that we "use" volunteers as we can't work without volunteers (and I am one myself since several years).

Before you came, we talked about how hard and overwhelming it is, it's an hard reality, so if you not prepared mentally and physically to this hard but great experience then yes don't come to our shelter.

Unfortunately, the platform doesn't allow to give a detailed feedback due to limited symbols of the message. There are a lot of points the host should work on. The house provided is in disrepair. I will just mention one thing - the last night of my stay old wiring caught fire. I am afraid to think what could happen if one of the volunteers was not around to put it up. Lack of safety made me leave the place…

Hello Elena,

Thanks for your feed-back, even if a detailed public reply is not possible you can reach us in private to explain us what are these points. We are really careful about the review of our previous volunteers.

"Disrepair" is rude, as our staff house is a basic home where you can stay and eat for free, we are an NGO so our donations goes for animals first. We hope to have extra money one day to decorate the staff house.

Concerning the old wiring incident, it happens unfortunately, it was replaced in the very same day.

Safety is also our priority, as for volunteers, workers and animals. We are sad to know that your experiment with us is not a success but we think that during the 24 hours of your stay it was too short to make such a comment.

We would have liked you to stay longer to show you how it's not as you describe it.

I really enjoyed my stay at the organization. It is intense and hard work, but it feels great to be part of such a great organization like this. It was wonderful to see how all these people work together day in day for all their animals. Thank you for this unforgettable experience!

When I discovered Moroccan the organization, it was a very last minute decision to fly in from Paris, and they were so understanding and accommodating! I've always loveddd animals, so I was very excited to do this volunteer of helping animals in need, and also scared that I might be crying the whole time. It's truly heartbreaking initially seeing all the animals who've been hurt (and especially losing them after growing attached), but I held it together knowing that I'm helping to give them a chance at life. Most fulfilling volunteer work I've done. And I will be coming back ;) ♥️

The work was as described, so there were no major surprises. The other volunteers and workers really contributed to a feeling of community and the whole experience was very enriching.
