I had an incredible time at the lodge and made amazing connections. The location is remote, beautiful, quiet and peaceful. It's a great place to tune out the noise of the outside world and connect with yourself and nature. The reception/bar shifts were 8 hours 5 days a week so it felt long at times but the tasks were easy and the schedule felt like a good work/life balance. Also i really enjoyed the food. At the end of my 6 weeks here I was very sad to say goodbye to this place, the other volunteers, the managers Raquel and Edwin and of course Pia. I'd love to return one day.

I had a great time in the lodge. Although I sometimes found the shifts a little long, I liked the volunteer position, especially the concept of working on two days in a row and then having one day off. The tasks were easy and if you didn't know how to do something they would always help you. This volunteer job for me had the right balance between working, socializing, spending time on my own and discovering the nature around this beautiful place right in the jungle. Not to forget cuddling with the lovely dogs! I am very grateful for this experience, thanks for everything, Pia and the lodge Team 🙏

I was made to feel very welcome as soon as I arrived at the lodge, by the hosts, managers and fellow volunteers. I worked in the kitchen as a chef, working 4 days on and 3 days off, 3PM-8:30PM, however sometimes earlier if it was quiet. I genuinely enjoyed my time working in the kitchen and I was given quite a lot of freedom with what I wanted to cook, although there are limited ingredients due to the location, but I was still able to make some tasty dishes. I made some good friends along the way too, so thank you Pia and the lodge team and all the best!x

The place is wonderful, very remote, very peaceful! It's not a place to use as a base to travel to many places or party! The volunteers and workers were very nice people and I think that contributed immensely in my experience! I was working as a yoga teacher and it was beautiful to teach in the middle of the jungle! The work was very interesting and hours were very fair for my position!

If you're looking to disconnect from the outside world and connect with nature this is 100% the place to go. Everywhere on the property is so peaceful and you will get addicted to going to the river everyday. The work is very easy and the people are super welcoming and friendly. Thanks to everyone on the lodge team for everything, I hope to see y'all again 🦋

I truly felt at home at the lodge. The staff and the other volunteers were all a joy to work with and the surrounding nature is incredible. I loved spending hours at the river and falling asleep/waking up to the sounds of the jungle. The hours can seem long at first but I honestly didn't mind it, you will still have plenty of free time to relax and explore. It's easy to get into the rhythm and I always had fun while working, chatting to the team and the guests. Semuc Champey and beautiful viewpoints are all in walkable distance.

I really enjoyed volunteering here! The team and the other volunteers were amazing and I already miss them. The nearby river and the nature surrounding this remote place is stunning. The work was very enjoyable as well, the tasks were comprehensible and easy but still fun and the guests and staff were really nice to work with. The hours of work sound a lot at first but I thought it was a good balance of work and free time.

I've had an incredible stay at the lodge! The property is beautiful and the people are amazing! But it is located in the middle of nowhere - so if you aren't into that, this place isn't for you. But if you are willing to leave behind the city-life, the lodge will be your new dream-home. The work is super easy, though a bit more hours than the usual volunteer jobs, not that it mattered anything to me. Hope to come back there next year for a longer period of time!

I loved it. the lodge is this weird and wonderful place where everyone is doing their thing and no one is judging. The place is quite isolated so the volunteers, managers and owners all become a family. Great food, super close to the river to go swim etc etc Things to be aware of before applying: We do work a lot of hours (more than the ad suggests). The work itself is not hard, but if you are working remote or studying at the same time it might be stressful. We also don't have more than one full day of in a row, so if you're planning to see Guatemala, give yourself enough time after leaving:)

Leaving the lodge after nearly 8 weeks is a very sad day. I had an amazing time volunteering in the most beautiful setting with some incredible people. You get a good deal as a volunteer, with free food and accommodation. the lodge is like a family and a great place to meet people from all over the world, as well as locals. Pia, Raquel and Pascal (owner/manager/assistant manager) are so lovely to work with and make a great work environment. You have to be willing to work hard here but if you're motivated and positive you'll have the time of your life. The surrounding nature is also unbelievable!

We were too late to write a review, sorry Connie!
Connie was a wonderful volunteer, working with her was a lot of fun, she provided super service to our guests and helped us with everything needed in the best way possible. We would highly recommend and are waiting for her to come back,
