First of all I recommend asking how to get there and giving a heads up when you arrive, it will be a lot easier for you. The location is great, you are fully surrounded by nature and have waterfalls somewhat close by. If you don't to walk until there, you can always take a dive in the river right outside the house. The work isn't grinding you to the bones, but can be tedious sometimes. The host tries hard to make it a great experience for everyone.

This has been a very beautiful and transformative time for me. Definitely isn't for everyone but if you're looking to get in touch with yourself and nature this is the perfect place for you. It's a little isolated as the center of drake bay is 30 minutes walking. The walk is beautiful and there is plenty to explore here on the farm. The people you meet here are wonderful. Elmer is awesome with high positivity. Take advantage of the river and waterfall. You'll miss it. Bring repellent. So important. Overall this place is amazingly beautiful and I will definitely return. Pura Vida💚

The farm is right in the jungle, we have snakes and frogs also lizards . you need cross a River to get the farm. So you need prepare for get into water and get wet all the time. I get Drake bay by Sansa flight, you can buy ticket one day before you leave San José, if you are looking for bus, you can take bus at San José to Palmar Norte and then you can take a taxi from bus station in palmar Norte to the dock in sierpe for the boat to Drake bay. Once you get there you can follow the sign to the farm, there is only one big road from dock to farm, it's easy to get the farm.

This place is fantastic! It is directly in the Jungle so there are no streets no noise of the city just the jungle noise. At night it's still pretty hot so you will be sweating even at night. The work is never really hard sometimes there is work that can be fatiuguing but it's a good experience and u will get in touch with nature. The food from the cook is very delicious and he is a very kind and cool person.

Our experience was just amazing! Living and enjoying the nature! I just say it is nothing for people they don't like to get your nails dirty or a few mosquito bits.. but who is curious like us will love it. Elmer is such a cool guy with a big heart. Thank you so much! Falling a sleep with the noise of the insects and waking up with the noise of the chickens. We hope your projects will keep going for the farm, all the best, Thank you for the experience Marco & Tanja

This place is truly a jem for nature lovers. You're fully immersed in the jungle. The work is tough but rewarding, nothing impossible. You have plenty of time to enjoy the place Elmer is a kind and patient host, and a very good cook as well. I also learned a lot about the Costa Rican biodiversity with him. Just be prepared for farm work, seeing lots of snakes and spiders, and bring long socks for boots!

The farm was a great experience for me. This project is not for people that don't love hard work and nature. You will be outside, you will get wet and dirty and it is hard work sometimes. Tasks can include raking, shoveling, planting, feeding animals and carrying clean drinking water down from the main road. The experience of sleeping outside in jungle is priceless and being surrounded by wildlife is magical. Bring tall socks, water shoes, quick dry EVERYTHING, first aid kit, wet and dry bags, sunscreen, and a solar charger. Elmer is a great host. I will definitely return someday!

Work: it is more physical labor but nothing to strenuous. We raked paths, feed chickens, and over all helped keep the area functional. There is a reason please keep mentioning tall socks. Bring them Life: the town is ab 30 minutes walk away BRING ENOUGH CASH there is no ability to get any here. Idk what enough for you will be. But more than you think probably. Living: I thought the living quarters were clean, nice and I honestly enjoyed staying there 12/10 would come back again

Being immersed in the jungle is an unforgettable experience. Elmer creates a welcoming environment that makes you feel like a part of the farm team. The work can be challenging (e.g. carrying 20 to 40 kg logs from the forest), but at 4 hours of work per day, there is ample time for rest and river enjoyment. In February, Drake Bay is very hot, so light, quick drying clothing is recommended. Long, thin socks for the boots are a good idea as mentioned. It is a wonderful feeling socializing after sweaty work with your fellow volunteers and I have made some great friends.
