Volunteering at the center definely was one of the best experience of my 3 months trip in Asia. You can expect accomodation, (local) meals, gifts and plenty of good memories! During my 2-weeks stay I was speaking and teaching to children and teenagers from beginner to advanced english level. Class schedule was flexible so I had some hours free to walk/cycle around, relax and do my stuff. Mr. Ty (the owner) and his friend Viet made me feel like a family during my whole stay. The town is simple and quiet (except for karaokes 😂). I already miss everyone and teaching the children so much! 😌

Thanks for my excellent teacher! in spite of short time but you help me to do a lot of things, so greate to help me any time. Some students asked me why you can speak the same American voice, they will learn a lot if they have a chance to speak with you again.

A experiência foi muito positiva. O período que passei lá havia poucos alunos por causa do coronavirus, então as turmas eram pequenas e as vezes de apenas um aluno. Mr Ty foi um ótimo host, sempre tentando agradar e tornar a experiência confortável. Ele é bem flexível e respeita o oferecido na vaga, mas sempre perguntava se eu podia ajudar com horas a mais, inclusive nas folgas, e eu aceitei algumas vezes. A cidade é agradável, mas distante de outras cidades. Acho que vale a pena pegar a bike e sair para explorar as pequenas ruas e ver o pôr do sol no rio Mekong como fiz várias vezes. Recomend

If you want to experience the life of a true South-Vietnamese then this is a great opportunity for you, the town of Hong Ngu is totally free of tourists. Mr. Ty is a positive person who is eager to help you with anything you need. Food was great all the time I was there. My casual day went like this: lesson from 8 to 10:30, lesson from 15:30 to 16:30 and one final lesson from 18:15 to 19:15. During the day you can go around the town or stay in the center and talk with children. NOTE: you can't rent a motorbike in Hong Ngu, so if you want to bike around, you should rent beforehand.

I had a great time at the school. Mr Ty is a great host and wether it was him taking care of my daily meals, arranging my transport, or singing Queen songs he made me feel comfortable. The children are lovely and it is a great experience to interact with them. Hong Ngu might be a small town, but we visited many coffeeshops, restaurants (including a BBQ buffet) and had a Legendary Karaoke Night!

This was my first worldpackers experience and it was the best trip of my life....Mr Ty is a great person...he makes sure that the teachers have the best time of their life. He takes care like no other person. It feels like home at the centre. The students are super friendly and super enthusiastic and all all credit goes to Mr.Ty

This was my first Worldpackers experience and I am really happy about it. My experience with Mr.Ty was amazing! He is a very caring host, very funny and kind. Always taking care of food. Accommodation is great, food is always fresh and tasty. I felt really welcomed and comfortable. The center is great, has a lot of space and everything you need to work with students. Atmosphere in the center is always fun. I met so many great people, this experience will stay with me for a long time. I felt sad when I was leaving, really wish all the best for Mr.Ty and students. Thank you for everything🙏🏻

Mr. Ty is a really caring host. He always make sure that we (the teachers) are comfortable, always take us out to hang out in the coffee shop, perfect daily meal (even when I want to cook, he bought me all the ingredients I needed), caring with his students and many more! I like the atmosphere here, quiet, unlike the city or other touristic place, here you will life like the local people and the students are great and enthusiastic! If you're planning to go to a place that's not touristy or need a place to escape from the busy city, this place will become the perfect choice for you!

Great experience! The kids are fun and you get to learn a lot about their lives, interact about culture. We got invited to a fish farm, a family ceremony and to swim at the river in just two weeks. Mr. Ty is a perfect host. He always makes sure we have three delicious meals per day, and also often takes us out for coffee. He looks after us to see we're fine and chats with us. If you work online is a perfect set-up, because the center has great wifi. It'd be ideal if you have a motorbike to wonder around on your free time, since there's beautiful scenery nearby. I would return in the future.
