The hostel was a super good volunteering experience! the hostel is beautiful and right on the pretty lagoon. The staff house is not very clean but it is only two blocks from the hostel which is handy. Toti is a super cool manager and Nico at the bar was great, there is a lot of flexibility especially as the leaving dates which has been really helpful to me. I worked in the bar and had four 8 hour shifts a week and then 3 days off. The work was chill but the shifts are long so just be aware of that. Bacalar is beautiful however there is not much to do so I'd say a month is more than enough time :)

The month I have spent at the hostel was amazing! The application process was easy and straightforward. On the day of my arrival I received multiple messages from the hostel, they explained how I can get to my accommodation and where I can get the keys from. I worked in the area of activities which was fun, it was basically just playing and interacting with the guests. The staff was always very helpful and kind to me, they made my stay even better. I could write a lot more but I have limited characters so I just want to end this by saying: thank you the hostel for the nice experience!

I loved volunteering at the hostel! I stayed for a month working the bartending area and really enjoyed my time here. Bacalar is a very cool little town and I would definitely recommend volunteering here!

We loved our time at the hostel ! The hostel has a friendly staff ; who gave us a warm welcome. We staid a month in the bartending staff and the team were with us and present whenever we had questions. Bacalar is a lovely city with a beautiful lagoon. Even though it is quite small, the parties here are amazing.

I had such an amazing experience at the hostel! I highly recommend volunteering here. It was so much fun working at the hostel with so many people coming from various places around the world. Bacalar is also a great city and was the perfect destination for the month I spent volunteering :)

Truly grateful to have my first ever volunteering opportunity in the hostel. Everything from the process to getting my trip confirmed to the work experience was perfect. Overall the experience at the hostel was great. I had so much fun and made some amazing friends with the other volunteers, and getting to know beautiful bacalar was amazing. Volunteers get a good deal too, a bed in a staff house and two meals a day, discount at the bar. I would recommend to anyone, thank you the hostel for the experience!❤️

Working at the hostel was a great experience, Toti was great as a manager and we loved the people we were working with. What I think was a bit of a bummer was that activities people worked less hours than the volunteers in the bar area and still got more free meals bc they worked more shifts (btw the meals tend to be really small for the most part!). Also because there was essentially no space in our room I had to put my clothes next to mouldy walls for most of the time. Nevertheless, we'd totally recommend working at the hostel and we're happy for all of the friends we made!! <3

I had an amazing time at the hostel and met lots of inspiring people:) The work in the bar was easy and mostly calm, but it was at times hard being out in the heat 6 hours straight! But all in all I enjoyed my stay in Bacalar at the hostel and made memories with the staff I will remember for a long time:D

The hostel was a lovely place to work. The whole team really felt like one big family. Plus spending most of the days hosting activities along the lagoon was lovely. Really made a great impression on me and I feel like the next hostel I work at will have a lot to live up to.
