Amazing and unforgettable experience! Thanks to James and his family, I really felt as a part of them. If you want to feel real Arusha and to make some social impact, this is the perfect place. …and when you arrive there, please don't be afraid of Rambo, he is just a big baby :)

My experience at the Kissiri house was incredible! Very nice place with all kind of things needed and lovely family, allways attentive and willing to help. I really felt welcome as one more in the house :) Also the projects to volunteer were very nice and I really felt that I was contributing to something good. Full flexibility to decide when and in wich project to help and also to organise the leisure trips. I am definetly looking forward to repeat!! Asante sana James and Kissiri family! :)

I certainly had an amazing stay, was fed so well the food was delicious and comforting. I enjoyed being on the farm on a nice cool sunny day without distractions…just picking crops and learning what it takes to be self sustainable. Definitely recommend this Host!

I had a beautiful week at James family. His younger brother David was responsible for me and cared a lot about my needs. I felt like being part of the family. The food that their sister made was always absolutely fantastic. I helped with the farmwork, the animals and all day work. We had a wonderful trip to the waterfalls too. My room was very nice and I felt comfortable at all times. I can't wait to come back. Big thank you to Mama Kissiri for all the love and care.

I had an unforgettable experience during my stay in Arusha. The Kissiri family is warm and pampers you in any way they can. I got to learn a lot about how to treat the different seasonal crops with the help of James and his family. Schedules are pretty flexible, no one rushes you to do your tasks, and during the afternoon you usually have spare time. The food is delicious, so you also get to taste some traditional dishes.

We had a truely amazing time at the community. James is a great host and his family helps you with everything you need and make you feel part of them. They are also super guides to experience local culture and for trips on the weekend and to the city. Although we came during school holidays there were plenty of things to do at the family farm and we spent a lot of time with the kids in the neighbourhood and also at the orphanage. The kids are really smart and we hope that future volunteers can teach them valuable things for their future while learning a lot themselves:)

Our experience with kissiri Family couldnt be better, we dont have words to describe what We have been feeling this time, they make us feel that we are another member of the family, they share with us his culture, values and essence of the community. We have visited a lot of beautiful places, waterfalls, hotsprings...They were all time taking care of us, giving us all that we need to be comfortable and happy, they teach us swahili, showed us the city and give us all their love. The kids are so Lovely. We worked at the library, at the farm, and we plant and collect vegetables. We love this place.

James and his family are the most welcoming and nice hosts I have ever seen. I felt at home since the first day I met them. I could learn so much about Tanzanian culture and their daily duties. My plan, first of all, was to help the school with English and sports activities. But since it was at the end of the school year, I could only help them for a couple of weeks. The other two weeks I was able to work on the family farm, which had helped me to learn more about it and also to see the family routine. It was an amazing experience that I recommend for everyone.
