Live in Zagreb and help us to make the hostel shine \o/

This was my first volunteering experience and I really enjoyed it! The other volunteers immediately made me feel so welcome and we became like a family. The housekeeping work is easy and would often be finished within 2-3 hours so plenty of free time to explore Zagreb, and the centre is very easy to reach by tram. There was never any confusion about what needed to be done and Mia and Eva were helpful when minor situations arose. All I can say is it gets quite hot when working, so be ready to sweat! I definitely would recommend the hostel if you're looking to meet some great people :)

The other voluntaries were really nice, so the exspirience was nice! The hostel is nothing of special, I would not chose it us a guest!

I really enjoyed my time here at the hostel! I met some lovely people and it had a great feel of community. Only thing I would suggest is the hostel invest a bit in things for the hostel such as bed lining and working air con as this would make the process for both hostel volunteers and guests better.

Great location, close to the center, markets and bars. Shifts and schedule were respected and I met great people ❤️

This was my first volunteering stint and it was super fun doing it at the hostel! Guests were amazing and met so many other travellers across the world. A small thing that I want to mention that is thatI wasn't expecting that I will be cleaning the CBD bar next door (I was under the impression that it will just be cleaning the hostel). So, applicants should take note of this if you are applying for this role here! Otherwise, volunteers had their own room and toilet, breakfast was plenty everyday and hours are respected (could even finish up early some days!)

I had a pretty good experience, meeting other travelers and hanging out with them was the best part. Beds were super comfortable. The job I had was painting the bar and the work was explained well it was just sometimes hard to find them when you had questions. I also stayed in a guest room and not the volunteer room and it would have been nice to know before had as my experience wasn't quite the same as everyone else's. Either way I had a nice time

I had a good time here. Since I was a painter, I stayed in a room with guest rather than the other volunteers which I wish I knew beforehand. Our hours were flexible so we painted 6-10am and 1-5am one night. Our task was to paint a weed bar (just a small detail to consider). We got all our general instructions from Anja's sister so we started on our own in the mornings, but we didn't always see her, so there was some unclarity. The hostel is VERY clean and cozy with good breakfast. There is enough time to explore during your free time, and meeting others is the best part.

The work is mostly fair and as agreed to, and was a good learning experience for me. the other volunteers were definitely the highlight of my time there!! <3 due to the location/prices, a lot of older locals stayed at the hostel, moreso than young travellers. communication between staff and volunteers definitely needs improvement, i've offered more private feedback to the host. also it's also not clear in the worldpackers posting that all roles involve going into the bar (full of ppl smoking indoors), this would've changed my decision to apply as i have mild asthma and am prone to headaches
