Wilderness Beach House Backpackers

Travelers fall in love with Wilderness and The Beach House. Volunteers don't want to leave because locals are welcoming and just so much adventure awaits. The work is fun but we still try and keep high service standards.

I've been running The Beach House for 10 years and living my dream. We have multi cultural staff since South Africa is known for her rainbow nation. They will make you feel at home and show you the ropes.

I had the best time in Wilderness. I worked with great staff and other volunteers and since it wasn’t season yet, we had a lot of time to go out and explore.

Definitely would recommend it. Everyone was so awesome and it felt like a family.

My stay at the Beach House was the perfect first Worldpackers experience. It’s more than a destination—it’s a home where everyone feels like family. Join activities (or create your own), explore on day trips, meet locals at volleyball, and soak up every moment—it goes by fast! The memories I made will last a lifetime. Huge thanks to everyone, especially Lieze, the heart of the Beach House. I can’t wait to return!

This is definitely a one of a kind experience. Lieze is very clear about her needs and the staff is helpful when orienting new volunteers. Lieze was helpful and very communicative so ask questions and don't be afraid to try something new. For me it was pool, for others it was the nature activities that Wilderness has to offer. From the beach to the trails to the caves.

Eu não poderia ter escolhido um lugar melhor que Wilderness Beach House para minha primeira experiência com a Worldpackers. Lieze, Clare, os outros staffs e outros voluntários foram acolhedores, pacientes com meu inglês e sempre muito gentis. O trabalho com as mídias sociais é tranquilo mas exige auto gestão e comprometimento. Clare que é a responsável pelas redes sociais do hostel me orientou como o trabalho precisava ser feito, me deu feedbacks e tirou todas minhas eventuais duvidas. A experiência foi incrível, espero retornar no verão :)

What to say?
At first I just wanted to find a nice place to rest after a few months of traveling and what I found was far beyond my expectations.
I found myself in a place of breathtaking beauty, but more than that, surrounded by incredible warmth and kindness. From the moment I arrived, the locals welcomed me as if I were already part of the community.
And thanks to the staff and the other volunteers for all the good moments, banters, coffees and adventures.
I'm now leaving with the a true desire to come back 😁
