Wilderness Beach House Backpackers

Travelers fall in love with Wilderness and The Beach House. Volunteers don't want to leave because locals are welcoming and just so much adventure awaits. The work is fun but we still try and keep high service standards.

I've been running The Beach House for 10 years and living my dream. We have multi cultural staff since South Africa is known for her rainbow nation. They will make you feel at home and show you the ropes.

I don’t even know where to begin… this was my first volunteering experience and I couldn’t have wished for a better one! Beach House/Wilderness is such a magical perfect place. I felt so at home from the beginning thanks to Lieze, the staff and the locals. The work itself was very easy and flexible which offered me enough time to explore the beautiful area. I really can’t name anything negative about this volunteering experience. This place and these people will always have a special place in my heart and I would definitely come back here one day <3.

An unforgettable experience at Beach House!
Thank you so much to Lieze and the whole team for this amazing time. Everyone is incredibly welcoming and makes you feel at home, always happy to share their love and advice. I already miss Beach House and the beautiful view.
The vibe is wonderful, I had an incredible time and would come back without hesitation!!!

I had the best time in Wilderness. I worked with great staff and other volunteers and since it wasn’t season yet, we had a lot of time to go out and explore.

Definitely would recommend it. Everyone was so awesome and it felt like a family.

My stay at the Beach House was the perfect first Worldpackers experience. It’s more than a destination—it’s a home where everyone feels like family. Join activities (or create your own), explore on day trips, meet locals at volleyball, and soak up every moment—it goes by fast! The memories I made will last a lifetime. Huge thanks to everyone, especially Lieze, the heart of the Beach House. I can’t wait to return!

This is definitely a one of a kind experience. Lieze is very clear about her needs and the staff is helpful when orienting new volunteers. Lieze was helpful and very communicative so ask questions and don't be afraid to try something new. For me it was pool, for others it was the nature activities that Wilderness has to offer. From the beach to the trails to the caves.
