Volunteer with Children in East Africa

Freedom project is a non-profit organization, we are a shelter for children coming from families with no structure to give the minimum conditions of life and study. The completion of the Freedom pub shall generate profits that will help in paying school fees for the children in the community,so it will be possible to change all the resident children and are trying to raise funds to be able to turn our place into a small sustainable village that in turn will support other communities.

Volunteers should choose to be with Freedom program because we need help with the education of the children who live here, in addition to the whole community around. as important as the children who live here are our athletes, from 7 to 22 years old, made up of the entire community of Nankoma.

We always require extra hands, knowledge, skills. If you are looking for something meaningful, helping children with your education and leisure, you are welcome here, even without experience you can help our teachers or you can also teach us what you know, we are open to learn and share what we know!

We live in a simple house away from the big city, a real experience on Africa, if you want to live this experience, come and join us!

I am Brian and we are situated in Nankoma village, Bugiri District , eastern Uganda. We are willing to give a simple but cozy accommodation. Our food is homemade, made everyday for all of our house, and you will be part of our family but if you need the special food here you can only pay $50per a week . The basis of our food comes from local fruits and vegetables and I'm sure you will love our warm tea at the end of the day. After your time here with us, you can go out speaking our local language. We can't give to you the ride for free, but we have a reliable driver who can pick you up for a great price. Our house needs help: Sewing skills, teaching English, helping our soccer team to teach, playing games for our children for leisure time. We always demand extra hands, knowledge and skills in order to improve our structures. Everyone is always waiting for the changes in the project, we are very positive that with the help of the international community, we can do everything in the community.

I didn't ask anyone money, but the only additional budgets made my experience to look like this , out school is quite some dust, we needed to contribute on the fuel to the school, our project is not for scams , you came with other intentions, because the children were coming at the orphanage everyday and we all participated but the language barrier was a problem with you , I know you know what am trying to tell the public.

We tried to explain to these volunteers, Andra and Ester but the language barrier was a big problem, we had just bought a place for the children, so we couldn't allow the children to stay in the house that is incomplete, the children come from the guardians every evening from school to the orphanage, I remember telling you the we're waiting for the renovations of the building before the kids can start sleeping here.
I have got all the photos of you and Ester attending to children .

My experience volunteering for Mwema Education Foundation was truly unforgettable. Brian and his wife Joan are the most welcoming and kind people, I felt at home immediately. The children are so excited to see volunteers and it’s a great feeling knowing that you help to make their day. Mwema Education Foundation still has many more goals they hope to reach and I found it really fulfilling to help grow this project!
I also paid to do a short safari during my stay that Brian took complete care of by helping me pick a trip and booking everything. I highly recommend this experience!

Staying with Kaylee was soincredible because she exercised her good experience to both kids and staff.
She helped teachers in classes and all the kids wanted her to attend to their classes.
Kaylee manage to create a GoFundMe page for our project which's so important during the time of fundraising for the project.
She brought lots of materials for children and we gave out the materials together.
We also went to Queen Elizabeth national Park, where we both got good time and good experience .

Staying with Brian was one of the best and most memorable experiences I will have. He was very focused but flexible on what tasks we could do and places we could visit. We did a lot of agricultural work, it was hot but the nature in Uganda is so beautiful. We had amazing fruits and everything is produced completely naturally. They provide nutrition for some children with the crops and there is always some more work that can be done. I taught a few lessons and helped with class work which was really enjoyable. All the children are really friendly and are quick learners. Great project.

It was a very great experience and time from Brother Kit .
Let me take this advantage once again to appreciate everything done with brother kit for managing to donate for the new project.
We worked very hard and he managed to buy us a children home to improve on the education of kids in the community.
I think by next year we shall have to lonch the project after the renovations is done and ready to start a children's home .
We visited a lot of projects and we got other experience about children

This experience is truly something special. This project does very important work by providing the kids with education and a place to feel comfortable. Volunteering in the project felt very rewarding. It was a welcoming place to stay at and the locals are also very hospitable. I can only recommend you make this experience for yourself.

What a great friend and brother Cain was, am here to recommend that Cain was a kind person, friendly and open to everyone in the community at large.
Our kids received footballs and clothes from him where he used to play alot with children, he also managed to bring us working electronics which am using by now .
He liked to learn our local language and he went back but Left everyone missing him.
We liked his experience in teaching math to our children, games and sports.
He trained us some sports almost twice in a day.
Thanks 🙏 so much for volunteering with us , we have learnt alot from him .
God bless him abundantly.
