Victoria House

First rule to stay at the Victoria House: you gotta have a good time! :)
As we really try to be a super friendly team, our goal is to teach you how to work properly at the reception, welcome guests and do a good cleaning of the place.
Making everyone feel welcome and comfortable is strictly needful.

Our volunteers are hosted in a private dorm, having access to kitchen facilities, laundry service, excellent wi-fi, basic stuff for cooking. Helping in a tiny hostel means getting really in touch with people from all over the world and also improving your english and italian a lot.

The team was so nice! Managers and other volunteers were amazing! It was nice to be there and meet other people :) about the work: expect to have at least 3 days off so you can explore the city, its surroundings and Italy in general. The work hours are fair as agreed (25h a week) and it can be flexible if you manage it with other volunteers, but expect to clean everything A LOT and especially if you are going in summer its gonna be challenging but in colder seasons I guess its chill and fine. Overall the people were so warm and welcoming so you can get to feel like home🫶🏻

Victoria House has been a second home for me. I’m really grateful for everyone I worked together, team and other volunteers were very supportive. Kudos to Marco, Giulio, Manu and Matteo.
Location is also great. Genova is close to Portofino, Cinque Terre, and nearby beaches were mesmerizing so I had plenty of time to travel and see around. I highly recommend this place to other volunteers, I spent one of the best times in my life 🌟

I really enjoyed my time at Victoria/Ostellin. Was able to meet so many amazing people from Genoa and all over the world. The work was simple and shift hours were respected. On your days off there are so many beautiful beaches to visit just a short train ride away. I would highly recommend this experience!

Na verdade trabalhei no OStellin, que faz parte do grupo que gerencia o Victoria. Recebemos um bom treinamento logo no início, é um trabalho um pouco mais duro em comparação com outros que participei, mas todos estão dispostos a ajudar. As tarefas são de limpeza, organização, apresentação do hostel e recepção. Conheci pessoas ótimas na minha estadia e já sinto falta das outras voluntárias.

I had a great experience, in a pretty city. The contact with other people is really easy and the volunteers were absolutely lovely ! The tasks are well-organised so as to have 3 or 4 days off a week !
