Volunteering at our rural school in Lombok offers a rare opportunity to make a tangible difference in children’s lives while experiencing authentic Indonesian culture far from the tourist trail.

Our students come from families with very limited resources, and many have never interacted with people from outside their village. Your presence alone broadens their worldview and inspires them to dream bigger. Whether you’re teaching basic English, leading creative activities, helping with sports, or simply playing games during breaks, you’re showing these children that the world is vast and full of possibilities.

You don’t need teaching experience – just enthusiasm, patience, and an open heart. Our students are eager to learn and incredibly welcoming. They’ll teach you as much as you teach them about resilience, joy, and community.

Beyond the classroom, you’ll experience genuine Lombok life. You’ll share meals with me and my family, learn about our culture, explore waterfalls that few tourists see, and forge connections that last long after you leave.

The impact is mutual: while you’re helping children access better education and opportunities, you’ll gain perspective, purpose, and memories that transform how you see the world. Our past volunteers have told us that their time here was the most meaningful part of their travels.

Hello, my name is Hapizin and I am 37 years old. I live in a little village in Lombok with my wife and two beautiful children. I work in an Islamic bording School and in my free time teach English to the local children. I would love volunteers to come and help me teach the children in the Islamic boarding school and know they would love this too. During your stay we can do many activities together including: - Breathtaking waterfalls - Mankey Forest - Rice fields - Bamboo crafting - Make coconut oil with my mother - Traditional Lombok handweaving - Local sports I will welcome you to my house with my family and my wife will cook some traditional Indonesian meals.
