Situated on the West coast of mainland Scotland, Skye is the largest and best known of the Inner Hebridean Islands.
One of Europe’s most dramatic and haunting lands, words can do little justice in describing the awesome beauty of the Isle of Skye. The majestic Cuillin Mountains dominate the rugged landscape, which is peppered with lochs, glens and tiny fishing villages.
Skye Backpackers is located in the picturesque fishing village of Kyleakin and is surrounded by mountains and sea.

This was my second time at Skye backpackers and just like the first time it was amazing! The work is very reasonable, and the hours are respected. Jess is an amazing manager. She was always taking care of us and made sure the vibe were phenomenal! I hope to work with her in the future. I will definitely miss Skye and everyone I got to know there.

This was my first World Packers experience, and I am so glad that I came to Skye Backpackers. Jess is an amazing manager who truly cares about each and every volunteer at the Hostel. The work is straight forward and simple. Kyleakin is a beautiful place, and the perfect town if you’re looking for a quaint and peaceful environment. Its not the easiest to get around the island if you don’t have a car or really plan your outings with the local busses, but is still a lovely rural place. I will never forget my time here and all of the wonderful people I met. Thank you for everything <3

The vibe of this hostel was really positive, with all of the other nice volunteers from around the world making my experience really good. Jess and Ronan were clear and helpful on tasks, and the volunteers would often finish early and have the rest of the day off (I liked going to the water or Castle Moil). I really enjoyed the Isle of Skye tour, traveling on my day off and doing a bakery trip with the other volunteers, carving pumpkins for Halloween, doing group activities, and seeing the Northern Lights for the 1st time ever! Skye Backpackers was a great experience!

This was the most fun and welcoming hostel, Jess was an incredibly patient, attentive and fun host who genuinely has your best interest at heart. Such a warm and family like environment

I felt right at home at Skye Backpackers. The entire team is amazing - I highly recommend this place to anyone who’s looking to make new friends and learn new skills! I already miss this place and am happy to go back any day as either a guest or a volunteer.
