I had a really great experience at Matthew's place. We did a phone interview before the trip and I got a detailed outline of the tasks and responsibilities right after the interview. The job was exactly as described. He is a very reliable host and really generous and kind. He was also flexible regarding my days off. Thank you very much for the experience :-).

Matthew is an excellent host. From the day I arrived, he did everything to make me feel comfortable and at home. The tasks were not hard, and I received all the training I needed. I had a lot of fun listening to his stories and also learned a lot about Irish culture and history. It was especially interesting to see how a B&B is run, it’s very different being on the other side, not just a guest. During my free time and days off, I could go sightseeing and enjoy the city - you can easily walk through the center. The accommodation was very cozy, and the atmosphere was calm, light, and respectful.

Matthew's house is such a nice place, he's not around too much, but he explained everything to me when I arrived. The job it's not difficult, housekeeping and checkouts in the morning usually and greeting guest after 3pm. If there are no checkins you can you can enjoy the afternoon in the city, since everything is near. You can visit other cities on your days off too since the bus and train station is just around the corner.

Matthew welcomed me with open arms from the very first day, and the weeks I spent with him were incredibly enriching for me.

I got an inside look at what it takes to run a business as complex as his and shared experiences with many of the guests who visited the hostel. I also had time to explore the city more.

In summary, it’s a volunteer opportunity that requires a fair amount of time and dedication, but I wholeheartedly recommend it.

Matthew is an amazing man, he is smart, funny, talented, welcoming, humble and outgoing!, I had a blast, it was a real pleasure to have met him, cause he quickly became a friend!. Limerick is a nice small city that has some really pretty spots to see and cool pubs you can have a drink (or two) at and dance! Hope I come back in the future and continue to learn and experience Ireland! Xx
